In this page, you can select a work log and write observations in it. Tell me more.

The “Write In Work Log” page appears.

Work Log

Use the drop-down list box to select the work log for which log entries must be maintained. The system lists all work logs as defined in the “Define Work Logs” component and are in the “Active” status.

Date

The date on which the log entries are made (Date Format) Mandatory.

 

Press <Enter>.

Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the observation. The system lists all the types as defined in the “Define Types & Categories” activity and are in the “Active” status.

Category

Use the drop-down list box to specify the category of the observation. The system lists all the work log categories as defined in the “Define Types & Categories” activity and are in the “Active” status.

Reported By

The employee code of the user who reported the observations (Alphanumeric, 30).

Press <Enter>.

The system retrieves in the multiline the observations already recorded in the work log. You can enter more observations or modify the existing observations by entering the following fields in the multiline:

Observation

Any day-to-day events/observations, which do not warrant creation of work request or work order at first instance or any work-related information to be shared across shifts, across teams, across departments (Alphanumeric, 255).

Note: You can record observations only in a work log that is in the “Active” status. However you can modify the existing observations for work log that is in the “Inactive” status.

Time

The time at which the abnormality was noticed on the equipment or location (Time Format).

Observation On

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the abnormality was noticed on equipment or location. The system provides the options: “Equipment” and “Location”.

Code

The identifier of the equipment or location on which the observation is recorded (Alphanumeric, 30).

Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the observation. The system lists all the types that are defined in the “Define Types & Categories” activity and are in the “Active” status.

Category

Use the drop-down list box to specify the category of the observation. The system lists all the categories that are defined in the “Define Types & Categories” activity and are in the “Active” status.

Reported By

The employee code of the user who reported the abnormality on the equipment or location (Alphanumeric, 30). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Reported By” field in the header is left blank. Ensure that the employee has already been defined in the “Employee Information" business component of Ramco Human Resources Management Solution and is in the “Current” status. If you leave this field blank, the system defaults the employee code entered in the “Reported By” field in the header.

Press <Enter>. The system ascertains whether the employee specified in the “Reported By” column is a valid employee and retrieves the employee’s name in the “Name” column in the multiline.

Name

The name of the employee specified in the “Reported By” column. The system displays this field when the “Enter” key is pressed in the “Reported By” column or when you click the “Submit” pushbutton.

Mod. By

The login ID of the user who modified the observation already recorded in the work log.

Date

The date on which the observation was modified.

Time

The time at which the observation was modified.

Recorded By

The employee ID of the user who recorded the observation in the work log.

Date

The date on which observation was recorded in the work log.

Time

The time at which the observation was recorded in the work log.

Write In Work Log – An overview

In this page, you can select a work log and write observations in it. You can also retrieve the observations already recorded in the work log and modify them. Before writing into the work log, you can also view the details of observations that are already recorded for a specific day. You can specify the work log in which the observations must be made, the type and category of observation, the date on which the observations were recorded in the work log and the employee code of the user who recorded the observations. You can enter the observations in the work log along with the equipment or location for which the observation is recorded, the type and category of the observation and the employee code of the user who reported the observation. You can also retrieve the observations that are recorded for a work log and modify them. The system saves the observations along with the login ID of the user who recorded or modified the observation along with the date and time of recording or modification.
