Option Setting – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to set the options for various fields in the “WO Planning and scheduling” business component.
The following options can be set in this activity:
Automatic reservation of parts on scheduling
You can set the option for automatically reserving spare parts for the work order on scheduling. You can either allow automatic reservation of spare parts for work orders on scheduling or disallow the option. If you allow automatic reservation of spare parts, the system performs the following when the work order is scheduled in the “Schedule Work Order” activity:
The system ascertains if the spare parts that are estimated for the work order is a standard spare part of type “Disposition”.
Note: A disposition item is an item for which only a minimum balance is maintained in the inventory. If a quantity over and above the minimum quantity is needed for the work order, a purchase request must be raised for procuring the rest.
The system raises a demand for the disposition items that are estimated for the work order.
If the entire quantity of the item is available, the system reserves it. Else the quantity is considered as problem quantity.
Set the default allocation method for all parts
You can set the default allocation method for all the parts that will be used while allcoating parts in the “Allocate Parts” activity.
Allow for partial allocation of spare parts
You can set the option for partially allocating spare parts to the work order. Based on the option that is set in this activity, the system allocates the spare parts partially or in full in the “Allocate Parts” activity.
