Maintain Categories
This activity allows you to define the category types for the pre defined categories. The category types defined for the category will be available in transactions. You can also set a category type as a default value for the category through this activity.
Select the “Maintain Categories” activity under the “Common Masters” business component.
The “Maintain Categories” page appears.
Select an option from the combo available in the “Category Details” group box:

Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category for which the category types are to be defined. The combo is loaded with pre defined categories. |
Enter the following in the “Category Type Details” multiline:

Category |
The category type of the category selected in the header. |
|
Description |
The description of the category type. |

Default |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the category type is to be displayed as a default value for the category selected in the header when used in transactions. |

Brand Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the brand category of the category. The combo is loaded with values only when the Category is selected as “Brand” in the header. The combo is loaded with categories defined for the Category – Brand Category. |

Complaint Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the complaint category. The combo is loaded with values defined for the Category – Complaint Category. |

Complaint Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the complaint type. The combo is loaded with values defined for the Category – Complaint Type. |

Est. Duration (Hrs) / Approx. Cost |
The estimated duration specified in hours for resolving the complaints or request. The value entered must be greater than zero. |
Note: The fields Complaint Category, Complaint Type and “Est. Duration(Hrs) are visible only if the category is selected as ”Customer Complaints” or “Customer Request” or “Broker Complaints” or “Broker Request”.
When Category is chosen as “Sanction”, Category, Description, Default, Est.Duration(Hrs)/Approx.Cost and Data History Columns will be visible. Approximate Cost for the respective Sanction Code can be defined here.
Click the “Save Details” button to save (create/modify) the category details.
The system displays the following in the “Category Type Details” multiline:

Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the category details. |

Created Date |
The date on which the category details was created. |
|
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who modified the category details. |
|
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the category details was last modified. |
