This report allows you to view the inventory turnover ratio at BU, OU, Cost Center or Warehouse. Report Information.

The “Inventory Turnover” page appears.

Turnover Report For

Use the drop-down list box to select the level at which you want to view turnover report. The options available in the drop-down list box are “Warehouse”, “OU”, Cost Center and “BU”. The system displays “OU” as the default value on launch of the page.

Note: Warehouse code is selected only if Warehouse option is chosen.

Warehouse Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse code. The system retrieves all the non-capital warehouses applicable for the login OU in ascending order. The first value is displayed as the default value on launch of the page.

Note: Cost Center is selected only if Cost Center option is chosen.

Cost Center

Use the drop-down list box to select the cost center. The system retrieves the cost centers defined for the BU of login OU in ascending order. The first value is displayed as the default value on launch of the page.

Item Selection Options

Use the drop-down list box to select whether the items for which you want to view the turnover ration is based on “Item Group” or  “Item Type”. The system displays “Item Type” as the default value on launch of the page.

Note: Item Group Selection Option is selected only if the “Item Group” option is chosen in the Item Selection Options drop-down.

Item Group Selection Option

Use the drop-down list box to select whether the item group is “Group type based” or “Item Attached Groups”.

Note: Item Group Code is selected only if “Item Attached Groups” is chosen in Item Group Selection Option drop-down.

Item Group Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the Item Group Code.  The system retrieves all the active Item group in which Items are attached to it in the ascending order. The first value in the drop-down list box is displayed as the default value on launch of the page.

The system displays the following detail:

Group Desc.

The description of the Item Group Code.

Note: Fields in Group Type Based Selection are selected only if “Group type based” option is chosen in Item Group Selection Option drop-down.

Group Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the group type. The system retrieves all the group type codes defined for the login OU’s and LO in ascending order. The system displays blank as the default value on launch of the page.

The system displays the following detail:

Group Type Desc.

The description of the Group type.

Item Group Lvl 1

Use the drop-down list box to select the first level of item group. The system retrieves all the first level item group for the selected group type along with a blank value, if the selected group type has first level item group. The system displays blank as the default value on launch of the page.

The description of the first level of item group.

Item Group Lvl 2

Use the drop-down list box to select the second level of item group. The system retrieves all the second level item group for the selected first level item group along with a blank value. The system displays blank as the default value on launch of the page.

The description of the second level of item group.

Item Group Lvl 3

Use the drop-down list box to select the third level of item group. The system retrieves all the third level item group for the selected second level item group along with a blank value. The system displays blank as the default value on launch of the page.

Item Group Lvl 4

Use the drop-down list box to select the fourth level of item group. The system retrieves all the fourth level item group for the selected third level item group along with a blank value. The system displays blank as the default value on launch of the page.

Note: Item Type Selection is selected if “Item Type” option is chosen in the “Item Selection Options” drop-down.

All Item Types

Check this box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for all the item types specified in the “Item Type Selection” group box. This field is checked by default on launch of the page.

Raw Material

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Raw Material” alone.

Intermediate

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Intermediate” alone.

Utility

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Utility” alone.

Finished Product

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Finished Product” alone.

Spare Part

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Spare Part” alone.

Pack

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Pack” alone.

Component

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Component” alone.

Tool

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Tool” alone.

Scrap

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Scrap” alone.

Consumable

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Consumable” alone.

Phantom

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Phantom” alone.

Sundry

Check the box if you want to view “Inventory Turnover” for the Item Type “Sundry” alone.

Financial Year

Use the drop-down list box to select the financial year. The system displays the default value as blank on launch of the page. All the past financial year along with the current year, which is defined for the company in the Accounting Setup component, is displayed in this drop-down list box.

The system displays the following details, if the selected financial year is not blank:

Financial Year Start Date

The starting date of the financial year.

Financial Year End Date

The ending date of the financial year.

Financial Period

Use the drop-down list box to select the financial period. The system retrieves the financial period applicable for the selected financial year for the company, which are on or before the system date from the Accounting setup component in ascending order. The system displays Blank as the default value on launch of the page. 

The system displays the following details, if the selected financial period is not blank:

Financial Period Start Date

The starting date of the financial period.

Financial Period End Date

The ending date of the financial period.

Inventory Turnover – An overview

This report gives the inventory turnover ratio for the current period as well as previous period to compare the performance. 

This page allows you to specify the search conditions for viewing the inventory turnover ration. You can specify the level at which you want to view the report that is, OU, BU or Warehouse.

This report allows you to view the details like Average Inventory, Inventory Turnover Ratio (ITR) for the period, Inventory Turnover Ratio for the previous Period, Year to Date (YTD) ITR Ratio and ITR for the corresponding period in the previous year for specified item types.

You can select the Item Selection Options from the drop-down list box. The options available are “Item Group” and “Item Type”.

You can specify the financial period for which you want to view the turnover ratio by selecting the financial year drop-down, the financial period corresponding to the year selected will be retrieved in the financial period drop-down.

Output for the Report “Inventory Turnover Ratio”:

Header Information:

It displays the respective BU/OU/Warehouse/ Cost center (CC) which was selected in the Entry page.  It displays the Financial period and Financial dates based on the date selection option which was chosen in the report. If nothing was selected it displays the current financial year and the financial period.  It also displays the Group code / Group type based on the selection in the entry page in the “Item group selection option “.  The base Currency and an Unique “Report ID “ are also shown

Column Information:

The column fields displayed are Item Type, Average Inventory, ITR (Inventory Turnover ratio) for the Period, ITR for the Previous period, YTD (Year to Date) ITR ratio, ITR for the corresponding period in the Previous year

-          Item type for the corresponding OU / BU / Warehouse/ Costcenter will be displayed in the Item type column

-          If the selected financial period is the first period for installation then the period opening balance value  will  be zero else the previous period’s closing balance is taken as the selected period’s opening balance qty .

-          The system retrieves the opening balance value, receipt value, issue value and return value for the selected period. The system also retrieves the adjustment and revaluation value for the selected period. Only the net adjustment value and net revaluation value will be considered.

-          The closing balance is calculated as   Period OB value + opening balance value+ receipt value+ return value+ adjustment value + revaluation value - issue value.

-          The average inventory is calculated by dividing the sum of period closing value and period opening value by 2 and the corresponding value is displayed in “Average Inventory column”

-          The inventory turnover ratio (ITR) for the period is calculated by dividing the difference between issues and returns by average inventory and the corresponding value will be displayed in “ITR for the period “ column.

-          The system retrieves the issue value, return value, period opening value and period closing value for the period, previous to the selected period to calculate ITR for the Previous Period. The ITR is calculated in the same way as stated above for the pervious period and corresponding value will be displayed in the “ITR for the previous period” column.

-          The system retrieves the issue value, return value, period opening value and period closing value for the corresponding period for the previous financial year to calculate ITR for the corresponding period in the previous year. If the financial year retrieved is the first year then the ITR value is null else it is calculated in the same way as stated above.

-          If the selected year is the current financial year and if the financial period selected is the current financial period, then Year to Date ITR is calculated by taking the issue value, return value, period opening value and period closing value from the start date of the current financial year period till the current system date. The ITR is calculated in the same way as stated above for the YTD and corresponding value will be displayed in the YTD ITR ratio column.

Footer Information:

The date and Time of running the report will be displayed at the bottom left side of the report. 

Corresponding page number will be displayed at the bottom right side of the report.
