Quick Code – A summary of the activity
Quick codes are user/system defined values, used to categorize different masters or transactions based on certain characteristics. This activity allows you to define the quick code values for the different entities. These values are used in other components available in the business process chain.
System (pre) defined values are codes that is prepopulated as metadata during configuration and users can’t add or delete the codes.
User defined values are codes that is available for the users to create their own. Once created users can’t delete them but only inactivate it.
The entities like “Location Type”, “Zone Type”, “Putaway Strategy”, “Picking Strategy”, “Dock Type”, “Material Handling, “Invoicing Doc Type”, “Order Type”, etc., are predefined in the system. Values can be defined for each of these entities. For example the entity ‘Location Type’ might have quick code description like “Warehouse”, “Hub”, “Booking Office”.
This page allows you to define a quick code for a specific entity. You can enter a unique identifier and description for every quick code. You can provide status as “Active” when the quick code is created and store the login user ID and system date along with the creation details.
