Equipment
Select the “Equipment” activity under the “Logistics Administration” business component.
The “Equipment” page appears.
- Clicking this icon
available near certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective
field.
To create a new equipment
Click “+Equipment” button in the right hand side corner of the page to refresh and clear the existing data in the fields.
Enter the following header details in the right hand side of the page:
Equipment ID |
The unique code or identification number of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. |
Equipment Description |
The name of the equipment associated with the equipment ID. (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the equipment. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Reason Code |
The code identifying the reason for which the status has to be changed. (Alphanumeric, 40). This field is mandatory if the status is “Inactive”. |
Reason Description |
On enter of reason code, the system displays the description of the reason. |
Equipment Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of equipment. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Equipment Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the equipment belongs. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Note: You can also create an Equipment ID if the status of the equipment is “Inactive” specifying the Reason Code.

Enter the following details:
Asset ID |
The code identifying the asset to be mapped to the equipment (Alphanumeric, 16). Mandatory |
Asset Tag |
The code identifying the asset tag associated to the asset ID. (Alphanumeric, 16). Mandatory |
Use of Hazardous Goods |
Select the checkbox to specify whether the hazardous goods can be carried in the equipment. |
Owner Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the owner type of the equipment. The combo is loaded with the values “from Quick codes. Viz. Own, contracted etc. (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory |
Ref. Doc. No. |
The reference document number of the equipment (User Defined). (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Agency ID |
The code identifying the agency which contracted/rented the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 16). This field is mandatory if the Owner type is “Contracted”, Hired, and Leased apart from Owned. |
Agency Name |
On enter of Agency ID, the system displays the name of the agency.. (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Agency Contract Number |
The contract number of the agency. (Alphanumeric, 16). This field is mandatory if the Agency ID is provided. |
Note: Agency ID, Agency Name and Agency Contract Number fields are visible for all Owner types apart from “Own”.
Mfg. Name |
The name of the manufacturer who manufactured the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 32). |
Built Date |
The date on which the equipment is manufactured. (Date Format). |
Purchase Date |
The date on which the equipment is purchased. (Date Format). |
Inducted Date |
The date on which the equipment is installed or received. (Date Format). |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Geo Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the geo type. The combo is loaded with the values “Division” and “Location”. The system displays “Location” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Division/Location |
The code identifying the division or location. Mandatory |
Description |
The description of division or location. On enter of Division/ Location the system displays the description. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Attached? |
Select the checkbox to attach the equipment with a location which is a base location. Note: You cannot attach the equipment to a division. You can attach only one location to equipment for the given period. You can attach another location once the "valid to" of the previous attached location is expired. |
Valid From |
The date from which the equipment attached to the base location is valid. (Date format). |
Valid To |
The date till which the equipment attached to the base location is valid. (Date Format). Note: Ensure that the entered value must be after valid from date. |
Enter the following details in the right hand side:
Home Location |
The home location of the equipment. |
Current Location |
The current location where the equipment is located. |
Enter the following details in the “Overall Dimensions” group box:
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of overall dimensions. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Overall Dimensions” The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Length |
The overall length of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Width |
The overall width of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Height |
The overall height of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “Internal Dimensions” group box:
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of internal dimensions. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Internal Dimensions. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Length |
The internal length of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Width |
The width length of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Height |
The height length of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “Weight” group box:
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of weight. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Weight. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Tare Weight |
The tare weight of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Max Allowable |
The maximum allowable weight of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “Volume” group box:
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of volume. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Volume. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Overall Volume |
The overall volume of the equipment is keyed or auto calculated. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Internal Volume |
The internal volume of the equipment is keyed or auto calculated. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “Temperature” group box:
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of temperature. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Temperature. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. |
Refrigerated |
Select the checkbox to refrigerate the equipment at certain temperature. |
Maximum |
The maximum temperature to be set. (Numeric, 28). This field is mandatory if the Refrigerated is checked. |
Minimum |
The minimum temperature to be set. (Numeric, 28). This field is mandatory if the Refrigerated is checked. |
Enter the following details in the “Lift Equipment Capacity” group box:
Load Lift |
The load lift capacity that is how much can be loaded in the equipment. (Numeric, 28). |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of load lift capacity. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Load Lift. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. This field is mandatory if the load lift is entered. |
Height Lift |
The height lifts capacity of the equipment. (Numeric, 28). |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of height lift capacity. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Height Lift. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. This field is mandatory if the height lift is entered. |
Enter the following details in the “Standard Container Equivalents” group box:
TEU Count |
The required count of twenty-foot equivalent unit. (Numeric, 10). |
FEU Count |
The required count of forty-foot equivalent unit. (Numeric, 10). |
Enter the following details:
Maintenance location |
The location where the equipment is maintained. |
Enter the following details in the “Maintenance Schedule” multiline:
From |
The date from which the equipment is maintained. (Date Format). |
To |
The date till which the equipment is maintained. (Date Format). |
Description |
The description of the equipment maintenance. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
THU |
The code identifying the transport handling unit of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 40). |
THU Description |
The description of the transport handling unit. (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Quantity |
The quantity of the transport handling unit. (Alphanumeric, 255). This field is mandatory if the THU is entered. |
Quantity UOM |
The unit of measurement for the quantity” This field is mandatory if the quantity is entered. |
From GPS, the system retrieves and displays the following in the multiline:
Latitude |
The latitude of the equipment based on the movement. |
Longitude |
The longitude of the equipment based on the movement. |
Location |
The location of the equipment based on the movement. |
Date & Time |
The date and time at which the information is captured. Information is retrieved on regular intervals based on integration scheduler with the GPS. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Registration No. |
The registration number of the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Address |
The address where the equipment is registered. (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Title Holder Name |
The name of the person on whom the equipment is registered. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Issuing Authority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the company who issued the registration. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. Mandatory. |
Issuing Location |
The location where the equipment was issued. |
Issued Date |
The date on which the equipment was registered. (Date Format). Mandatory. |
Expiration Date |
The date on which the equipment registration expire’s. (Date Format). Mandatory. |
Remarks |
Any remarks regarding the registration of the equipment. |
Attachment |
Attach any document (If required). |
Click the “Save” button to create new equipment details.
The system saves the equipment ID successfully and the status is updated as “Active”.
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created along with the date and time at which the equipment details was created. |
Modified By |
The login ID of the user who modified along with the date and time at which the equipment details was last modified. |
To modify existing equipment details
From the left section of the equipment master, select an option from the drop-down list box and enter the keyword for a specific search.
Click “Get” button to retrieve entire equipment details in the multiline.
The following details are displayed in the multiline:
Equipment ID |
The unique code that identifies the equipment. (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Description |
The description of the equipment. |
Click on any “Equipment ID” Data Hyperlink to display the respective equipment details in the right hand side of the page.
The system displays the corresponding equipment details in the right hand side header and tabs. You can modify the required fields.
Click “Save” button to update the existing equipment details.
