Location
Select the “Location” activity under the “Logistics Administration” business component.
The “Location” page appears.

Clicking this icon available near certain fields takes you to the help
page of the respective field.
To create a new location
Click “+Locations” button in the right hand side corner of the page to refresh and clear the existing data in the fields.
Enter the following header details in the right hand side of the page:
Location |
A unique code identifying the location (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. This field can be a combination of alphabets and numbers, and cannot be left blank. |
Description |
The description of the location. (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Location Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of location. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Codes Master” activity, viz (Warehouse, Hub, Booking Office, Airport, Seaport and Railway Terminal). The type is just for reporting purpose. |
Reason |
The code identifying the reason for which the status has to be changed. (Alphanumeric, 20). This field is mandatory if the status is “Inactive”. |
Description |
On enter of reason code, the system displays the description of the reason. |
Enter the location code or retrieve the location from help page and Click “Copy” button to copy the existing location to this new location.
Enter the following details in the “Copy Location” group box:
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book in which the location details are to be posted. The combo is loaded with all the finance books mapped to the organization unit. The system displays blank by default on launch of the page. (Alphanumeric, 50). Mandatory. |
Cost Center |
The code identifying the cost center to be mapped to the location (Alphanumeric, 50). Mandatory. |
Default Account |
The code identifying the default account code to be mapped to the location (Alphanumeric, 50). |

Enter the following details in the “Address Details” group box:
Address Line 1 |
The first line address of the location. (Alphanumeric, 100). Mandatory. |
Address Line 2 |
The second line address of the location. (Alphanumeric, 100). |
Country |
The country in which the location exists. Mandatory. |
State |
The state in which the location exists. Mandatory. |
City |
The city in which the location exists. Mandatory. |
Postal Code |
The postal code of the location. (Numeric, 50). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “Contact Details” group box:
Contact Person |
The name of the contact person in the location. (Alphanumeric, 50). |
Contact Number |
The contact number of the contact person. (Alphanumeric, 50). |
The email ID of the contact person. (Alphanumeric, 50). |

Fax |
The fax number of the contact person. (Alphanumeric, 50).. |
Enter the following details in the “Location & Time Zone Details” group box:
Latitude |
Indicates the latitude of the location. The value limit is +/- 90. Mandatory |
Longitude |
Indicates the longitude of the location. The value limit is +/- 180. Mandatory |
Time Zone |
Use the drop-down list box to select the time zone of the location. The combo is preloaded during implementation. |
Enter the following details in the “Shift” multiline:
Shift Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the shift mapped for the location. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. |
From Time |
The start time of the shift. |
To Time |
The end time of the shift. |
Enter the following details in the left side multiline:
Shift Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the shift to be mapped for the location. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. |
Sun |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Sunday. |
Mon |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Monday. |
Tue |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Tuesday. |
Wed |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Wednesday. |
Thu |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Thursday. |
Fri |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Friday. |
Sat |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Saturday. |
Enter the following details in the right side multiline:
Holidays |
The reason for the holiday. For example: Independence Day. (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Date |
The date on which the holiday falls in the year. (Date format). |
Day |
The day on which the holiday falls in the year. On saving the Date, the system displays the Day. |
Shift |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the shift mapped for the holiday. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Customer |
The unique code identifying the customer(s) to be mapped to the location. |
Name |
The name of the customer. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
User |
The unique code identifying the user mapped to the location. |
Name |
On enter of user code, the system displays the name of the user. |
Admin |
Select this checkbox to map the user as Admin user. |
Planner |
Select this checkbox to map the user as planner. |
Executor |
Select this checkbox to map the user as executor. |
Controller |
Select this checkbox to map the user as controller. |
Default |
Select this checkbox to map the user as default user. |
Note: At least one checkbox must be selected.
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Geography |
The code identifying the geography to which the location is mapped. Mandatory |
Geography Type |
On enter of geography, the system displays the type of geography (Country, State, City, Postal code, Zone, Subzone, Region). |
Status |
The system displays the status of the geography. |
Note: At least one row should be selected in the multiline.
Click the “Save” button to create new location details.
On save, the system generates a location ID and the status is updated as “Active”.
To modify an existing location details
Select an option from the drop-down list box and enter the keyword for a specific search.
Click “Get” button to retrieve the location details in the multiline
The following details are displayed in the multiline:

The unique code that identifies the location. |

The description of the location. |
Type |
The type description of location. |
Click on any “Location” Data Hyperlink to display the respective location details in the right hand side of the page.
The system displays the corresponding location details in the right hand side header and tabs. You can modify the required fields.
Click “Save” button to update the location details.
To proceed, carry out the following
Click “Map Location Coordinates” link to map the location coordinates from the Google map and record the Latitude and Longitude details.
Click “Maintain Zone” link to create the zone details for the location.
The system displays the following in the “Data History” group box:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the location details. The date and time at which the location details was created. |
Modified By |
The login ID of the user who modified the location details. The date and time at which the location details was last modified. |
