This activity allows you to create a formula, which can be used in the “Cost Setup” component. You can create the formula by entering the formula ID, the description of the formula and the contents of the formula. You can directly enter the contents of the formula. Alternatively, you can select from the list of defaulted variables, which have been used in the “Cost Setup” component. You can select a variable from the multiline, which accordingly shows the “Cost Element Structure ID” it is used in. You can select a variable and transfer the variable to the contents of the formula. This activity allows you to create the formula based on the entries made. The system creates the formula and the login ID of the user and the date of creation is updated accordingly.   

The “Create Formula” page appears.

Formula ID.

A unique code identifying the formula (Character, 20).

Note: The formula ID should not be repeated more than once.

Formula Desc.

A textual description of the formula (Character, 80).

A description of the contents of the formula (Character, 255).

Select Variable

Use the drop-down list box to select from “Yes” or “No”, if you wish to select the defaulted variable.

 
  •  Yes – indicates you wish to select the defaulted variable.

 
  • No – indicates you do not wish to select the defaulted variable.

The system display the following:

Variable

The defaulted variable from the “Cost Setup” component.

CE Structure ID.

The unique code identifying the Cost Element Structure.

The system transfers the selected variable to the “Formula Content” field.

The system creates the formula based on the entries made.

The login ID of the user and the system date are updated in the “Created By” and “Created Date” fields.

The system displays the following:

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the formula.

Created Date

The date on which the formula was created.
