Using online help

This activity enables you to associate attributes to input items of formulae. You can specify all the attributes defined in Inventory for the Input Items required. This activity enables you to specify a range of quantitative attributes and standard value for each item. The details of the attribute values are used during material allocation and for scaling the quantity required for allocation.

Attributes are certain characteristics of an item, which are useful in analyzing the quality of an item. Items are defined in the inventory through different processes in the organization. To keep track of them, each item can be associated with an attribute. Attributes can be classified into two types: “Qualitative” and “Quantitative”. For example, some of the attributes like the color of the oil have qualitative values such as red and black. Items like tyre can have quantitative values such as taper angle, which are measurable within the minimum value of 3 degrees and the maximum value of 5 degrees.

The “Maintain Formula Input Attributes” page appears.

Formula

The code identifying the formula, whose Output Item Attribute information is to be defined (Alphanumeric, 12).  Mandatory

Version

The code identifying the version number of the formula (Alphanumeric, 10).

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the formula.

Item Code

The code identifying the Header item of Formula.

Variant

The variant of the item.

IO Type

The type of the item, which could be “Primary Input” or “Primary Product”.

Item Code

The code identifying the Formula’s input item for which the attribute information is to be defined (Alphanumeric, 32).

Variant

The variant of the item (Alphanumeric, 08).

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the item variant.

Attribute

The code identifying the attribute of the input item, which is used in the formula (Alphanumeric, 06).

Help facility available

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the attribute.

Type

The attribute type, which could be “Quantitative” or “Qualitative”.

Standard Qualitative Value

The standard Qualitative value of the attribute (Alphanumeric, 20).

Help facility available

Maximum Quantitative Value

The maximum Quantitative value of the attribute (Integer). This value must be within the “Min Quantitative Value” and “Max Quantitative Value” defined in the Item Component for this Item-Attribute combination

Minimum Quantitative Value

The minimum Quantitative value of the attribute (Integer). This value must be within the “Min Quantitative Value” and “Max Quantitative Value” defined in the Item Component for this Item-Attribute combination.

Standard Quantitative Value

The standard Quantitative value of the attribute (Integer). This value must be within the “Min Quantitative Value” and “Max Quantitative Value” values defined in the screen

The system displays the following:

UOM

The unit of measurement of the Quantitative Attribute.

Scaling Attribute

Use the drop-down list box to specify the scaling type for Attributes of Type Quantitative. The system lists the option “Yes” or “No”

  • Yes - indicates the quantity of the input item has to be scaled based on the attribute’s value during material allocation.

  • No – indicates the quantity of the input item need not be scaled based on the attribute’s value during material allocation.

  • Blank – indicate that scaling is not applicable for the attribute.

Note: An Input Item of a formula can have only one Attribute with scaling set to ‘Yes’.
