Inquire BU Stock – A Summary of the Activity

This activity allows you to query the stock information for the BU and for the stocking points under a business unit (BU). A business unit comprises a number of organizational units (OUs). Each organizational unit (OU) has a number of storage units called “Warehouse” that enables you to define the item storage hierarchy. In this activity, you can specify whether you wish to inquire stock details for capital warehouses only, all warehouses in a BU including capital warehouses, or all warehouses in a BU except capital warehouses. The system retrieves stock details from the “Storage Maintenance ” component depending on the type of warehouses you have selected for stock information inquiry.  You can inquire stock information only for item/variants whose item type is not Service/ Model/Kit or any non-stockable item type.

This activity allows you to inquire the stock details as transactions such as work order, stock issue, stock receipt and stock return require the user to know the availability of stock in different stocking points under a BU before he places a request for items.                                                                        

The “View Stock Information for Stocking Point” allows you to inquire information on stock stored in the warehouses in an OU and for stocking point. The “View Item Information” page allows you to view the details of items.
