Stock Maintenance – An overview

Introduction

Stock Stored in the warehouses needs to be administered efficiently. Setting up of a warehouse and ensuring its smooth functioning involves various processes, which is supported in stock maintenance. It involves capturing the initial stock in a warehouse, keeping track of the transactions that moves material In and out of the warehouse, capability to maintain stock value, handling Stock transfers and Stock Status conversions. , Effective stock replenishment is vital in streamlining the supply chain and avoiding situations of stockout / excess stock. Feature Highlights

Stocks are maintained in inventory in five levels viz..warehouse/zone/bin/lot/sublot or serial no. Rates of items and document details for each receipt in each warehouse is maintained if the costing method is Weighted Average, LIFO or FIFO. Values can be calculated for each item-variant during issue transaction based on its costing method. Min-Max or Reorder level planning is supported.

Stock review can be done at warehouse/OU/BU levels. Stock inquiry about items for a given attribute or attribute set can be done.
