Basics of using Ramco Enterprise series web page

Using online help

This page allows you to maintain and modify the details of the various zones present in a “Normal” warehouse in “Active” status. You can add more zones and also modify the zone, zone type, zone description and picking priority of the zones already created. The zone type can be modified from “Free” to “Normal” only when there is no stock in the zone. A “Normal” zone can be converted into a “Free” zone only when the bins associated to the zone are inactivated. This page also allows you to maintain and modify bin details for the zone. This page will not be deployed if the warehouse does not exist in the login OU or if the storage type of the warehouse is “Free”.

The “Maintain Zone” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Warehouse Code

The unique code identifying the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory.

Warehouse Desc.

A textual description of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory.

Zone

The new zone code that is to be created can be specified here (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. This field will also display the existing zone codes under the warehouse, defined using the “Create Zone” page for modification.

Zone Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the zone type for a newly added zone or modify the zone type of the zone already defined. The system lists the options “Normal” and “Free”.

  • You can modify the zone type from “Free” to “Normal” only when there is no stock in the zone.

  • You can modify the zone type from “Normal” to “Free” only when the bins in the zone are in “Inactive” status.

Zone Desc.

The description of the new zone or modified description of the zone already defined (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory.

Picking Priority

The priority for issuing items from the zone (Integer). The number entered here should be greater than zero. The picking priority must not be specified in fractions. This number should be unique within the multiline. Ensure that this field is not left blank if the allocation method is chosen as “Picking Priority” in the header.

The system saves all zones for the specified warehouse code in the login OU. If you wish to modify a zone code and the newly entered zone code is not previously defined, then the system creates a new zone with the specified code.
