Storage Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the storage category. Storage category could be either Exclusive or Shared.

  • Exclusive storage - If exclusive storage category is selected then no other item can be stored in this address of the warehouse. The storage category must not be chosen as “Exclusive” for more than one zone/bin combination in the multiline.

  • Shared storage - If shared storage category is selected then any item along with the given item can be stored in this address. The system sets this field to “Shared Storage” by default

If the user modifies the storage category from shared to exclusive, then the system checks if there exists any definition for storage category for the zone/bin under modification and also for any other item variant not under modification. If there exists a definition, then the system displays an error message. Else, the user can modify the storage category.  If the user modifies the storage category for the item variant from the Exclusive to Shared, the system allows the user to modify the change. If the user modifies the storage Category from Shared to Excusive then the system verifies whether the item is in stock. If stock exists for item/variants other than the input item/variant, then the user cannot modify the storage category.

Storage Rule

Use the drop-down list box to select the storage rule. Storage rule could be either Only At or Also At.

  • Only At - If Only At is selected then the item can be stored only at the specified address in the warehouse.

  • Also At - If Also At is selected then the item can be stored in other addresses and also at the specified address. The system sets this field to “Also At” by default.

If the user modifies the storage rule from Only At to Also At then the system verifies whether the item is in stock. If stock exists for item/variants other than the input item/variant, then the user cannot modify the storage rule.
