This page allows you to specify two defaulting strategies. You can also specify rules for these two defaulting strategies. The first rule for a receipt or issue transaction will always be storage allocation. So, this value is defaulted in both the strategies. You have the option of selecting the other two rules from the drop-down list boxes.
Some of the rules that you can specify for defaulting zones and bins are max-zone bin, min-zone bin and picking priority.
Max-Zone Bin rule ensures that receipt or issue of items happens only from the zone / bin that has maximum stock of the specified item.
Min-Zone Bin rule ensures that receipt or issue of items happens only from the zone / bin that has minimum stock of the specified item.
Picking Priority is the priority number associated with the zone / bin for picking items from the warehouse for receipt or issue.
You have the provision to set the prefix and starting number of each storage category such as, Zone, Row Rack, Level and Bin. The system fetches the information from this activity for the automatic generation of the zone, row, rack, level and bin codes in the “Maintain Warehouse Information” activity.
