Storage Administration – An overview
Introduction
Storage administration component deals with the definition and maintenance of warehouses that could be used to store items. Warehouse is the highest level of storage. Warehouse can further be divided into zones and these zones can be divided further into bins. Thus a bin is the lowest level of storage. In this component we can define the item types, stock statuses and transactions that are allowed in each warehouse. Storage allocation as well as warehouse level item planning parameters is also set here.
Feature Highlights
“Picking priority” for a zone and a bin can be specified. Facility to identify Capital Warehouses and mapping users to warehouses is also provided. It is possible to define that certain items can be stored only in specified Zones/Bins. Defaulting methods can be defined and mapped to each warehouse- transaction combination to default storage location in different transactions.
