Route Master
This activity allows you to create the route number, define route points between locations based on vehicle type and capability to transport over dimensional cargo. You can also specify the check points of the route along with the distance and time duration between two successive checkpoints. You can specify the route sequence for a route. You can record the restriction, if any on a route. You can also specify the validity period of restriction applicable for the route. You can specify the trip allowance to be provided for a vehicle type in a route. The route number which is created in the respective organization unit can be modified.
You can copy the existing route sequence or all the details pertaining to existing route details for creating a new route number through Copy Route section. You can also specify the existing route number for modifying the route details. The system retrieves the existing route number details. You can confirm, delete, activate/inactivate and amend the route number. The system auto updates the status of the “Route Number” to “Inactive” when the “Valid Until Date” becomes less than the system date. You can extend and activate an inactive document by specifying the “Valid Until Date” greater than the system date.
Select the “Route Master” activity under the “Transport Masters” business component.
The “Route Master” page appears.
Note: Clicking this icon available near certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.
The system displays the following in the header.
Status |
The status of the route number. The status can be “Fresh” or “Active” or “Deleted” or “Under Amendment” or “Inactive”. |
Enter the following field details in the “Route Details” group box:
Route No |
A unique number identifying the route which can be either permitted or restricted to operate during the specified day and time. |
Route Description |
The detailed description of the route. |
Numbering Series |
Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering series for generating the route number. The combo is loaded with the values defined for the transaction type in the “Numbering Class” component of “Inventory”. The system displays the numbering type set as default for the transaction in the “Numbering Class” business component. |
The system displays the following in the “Route Details” group box.
From Location |
Indicates the origin location associated with the route number. |
To Location |
The destination location associated with the route number. |
Enter the following field details in the “Route Details” group box:

Use the drop-down list box to view the route amendment details. |
The system displays the following in the “Route Details” group box.
From Location Type |
Indicates the origin location of the route. |
To Location Type |
Indicates the destination location of the route. |

Route Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the route. |
L/E Flag |
Use the drop-down list box to select whether route allows “Empty” or “Loaded” or “Both” vehicles. The system displays “Both” by default on launch of the page. |
ODC Flag |
Use the drop-down list box to select whether the route allows over dimensional cargo. The combo is loaded with “Yes” and “No”. The system displays “No” by default on launch of the page. |
Valid From Date |
The date from which the specified route is valid. Mandatory. |
Valid Until Date |
The date until which the specified route is valid. Mandatory. |
The system displays the following in the “Route Details” group box.
Created at OU |
Indicates the organization unit at which the route number is created. |
To Copy the existing route details
Enter the following details in the “Copy Route” group box:

Use the drop-down list box to copy the existing route details for creating the new route number either with “Route Sequence” or with “All Details” of the route. The combo is loaded with “Route Sequence” and “All Details”. The system by default displays “Route Sequence” on launch of the page.

Source Organization Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to copy the existing route details which has been created at various organization units. The combo is loaded with all the OUs wherever Transport Master component is deployed. |

Click the “Copy” pushbutton.
The system displays the existing route details based on the “To Copy” selection.
There are four tabs in the page
Enter the following details in the “Route Sequence” tab:
Sequence No. |
A unique number identifying the sequence of the route. |
Location |
The location for the sequence number. |
Location Type |
The location type where the activity is monitored. |
Checkpoint Type |
Indicates the checkpoint type applicable for the specified location where the vehicles are stopped for inspection and clearance. |
latitude |
The location’s latitude details. |
Longitude |
The location’s longitude details. |
Distance (KMS) |
Indicates the distance (in Kilometers) between the previous and the current sequence (location) number. Mandatory. |
The system displays the following in the “Route Sequence” tab.
Total Distance (KMS) |
The total distance (in Kilometers) from the start location. Total Distance (KMS) = Distance in the current row + The total distance in the preceding row. |
Enter the following details in the “Route Sequence” tab:
Duration (HRS) |
Indicates the durations (in Hours) between the previous and the current sequence (location) number. |
The system displays the following details in the “Route Sequence” tab.
Total Duration (HRS) |
The total duration (in Hours) from the start location. Total Duration (HRS) = Duration in the current row + The total duration in the preceding row |

Vehicle Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the vehicle group for specifying the route. The combo is loaded with all the values defined in the “Maintain Code” activity. The system displays “all” by default on launch of the page. |

Use the drop-down list box to select the vehicle type for specifying the route. The combo is loaded with all the values defined in the “Maintain Codes” activity. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page. |

Restriction Type |

Enter the following details in the “Route Restrictions” tab:
Origin |
The origin location from where the restriction starts. |
Destination |
The destination location till where the restriction ends. |
From Date |
The date from which the restriction is applicable to the route. |
To Date |
The date until which the restriction is applicable to the route. |
From Time |
The time from which the restriction is applicable to the route. |
To Time |
The time until which the restriction is applicable to the route. |
Restriction Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the route restriction. |
Restriction Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the route restriction. The combo is loaded with “Valid” and “Invalid”. The system displays “Valid” by default on launch of the page. |
Note: If the To Date is greater than the system date, you can set the Restriction Status as “Valid”.
The system displays the following details in the “Allowance Details” tab

Enter the following details in the “Allowance Details” tab:
Allowance Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of allowance applicable to the staff. The combo is loaded with the values defined in the “Maintain Codes” activity. The system displays the code set as default in the “Maintain Codes” activity. |
Vehicle Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the vehicle type for specifying allowance details. The combo is loaded with all the values defined in the “Maintain Codes” activity. The system displays the code set as default in the “Maintain Codes” activity. |
Amount |
The trip allowance amount. |
Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the allowance. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton.
The system generates the Route Number in “Fresh” status based on the numbering series. The system updates the “From Location”, “To Location”, “From Location Type” and “To Location Type” in the header.
Click the “Confirm” pushbutton.
The system confirms the Route Number and updates the status as “Active”.
Note: Only “Fresh” and “Under Amendment” status of the Route Number can be confirmed.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton.
The system updates the status of the Route Number as “Deleted”.
Note: Only “Fresh” status of Route Number can be deleted.
Click the “Activate/Inactivate” pushbutton.
The system updates the status as “Active”.
Note: If the Valid Until Date is lesser than the system date, the system updates the status as “Inactive”. You can extend the Valid Until Date greater than the system date to activate the document.
Click the “Amend” pushbutton.
The system updates the status as “Under Amendment” and increments the Amendment Number to 1.
Note: Only “Active” status of the Route Number can be amended.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to specify notes details.
The system displays the following details in the “Data History” group box.
