Set Tax Rule Engine – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to set the tax rule engine to automatically assign code to a transaction, based on its attributes.
Tax Rule Engine is the automatic tax code defaulting mechanism. In Tax Rule Engine, for the applicable parameters set for the Tax Type & Tax Community, tax codes are mapped for each combination of the applicable parameters. In other words, all the Tax Parameters set as “Yes” for that particular taxation, values have to be entered, and the tax code that has to be assigned at the transaction using these specified values are entered in Tax Engine. Once this has been done, while creating transactions, first the applicable Rule ID is identified, and based on the values entered at the transaction level, the tax code is assigned automatically without any user intervention.
Based on the parameters set in the Set Rule Parameter Interface, the values for the parameters are specified in this interface and the Tax Codes are mapped. This rule engine defaults the appropriate Tax Code in the Transaction based on the attributes of the Transaction.
