This page allows you to create tax regions related to tax type and tax community combinations. Tax region refers to the place where the tax declaration needs to be made. You can enter the name of the tax region, its description, registration number, and tax region type in this page. You can also use a link to map the tax region to your warehouses located within the control of the region. In case of Vat, the tax region would represent the country where the declaration would be made.

The “Create Tax Region” page appears.

Tax Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the Tax Type code for which you require to create Region. The tax type refers to the type of tax, for example TDS, and TCS.

The first applicable tax type is displayed in the Tax Type list box as default on launch of the screen

Tax Community

Use the drop-down list box to select the Tax Community to make the combination for which you need to create a Region. On selecting Tax Type the Tax Community drop-down lists box populates with the codes of the communities connected to the Tax Type. Tax community refers to the government authority that administers the tax laws.

Tax Region

User defined Region where the tax declaration is required to be made. Enter a code to identify the Tax Region you need to create (Alphanumeric, 25) Mandatory.

Desc.

The textual description of the Tax region (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory.

Registration No.

The tax registration number. When Tax Region is entered, Registration No. must be entered.

From Date

The date from which the region is available for transactions (Date format). Mandatory.

Tax Region Type

Use the drop-down list box to choose from, CIRCLE, COUNTRY, FACTORY, STATE AND WARD. If Tax Type = VAT & Tax Community = EU or Swiss, then Region Type should be Country

Tax Region Types applicable to the Predefined Tax Types are:

 
  • TDS – Circle

 
  • Excise – Factory

 
  • VAT – Country

 
  • GST – State

Note: Multiple entries are permitted

Assessee Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of assessee. The combo is loaded with options “Registered”, “Unregistered” and “Turnover Tax Dealer”.

Person Responsible for Tax Deduction

The name of the person responsible for deducting tax.

Father's Name

The father's name of the person responsible for tax deduction.

Designation

 The designation of the person responsible for deducting tax.

Address ID

 The address id of the region.

CIT Address ID

The address ID of the Commissioner of Income Tax (where the TDS Returns are filed)

Note: The details of the Address ID will be defined in the Maintain Address Details activity of the Organization Setup business component.

Inward Road Permit Mandatory

Use the drop down list box to select the Inward Road Permit is applicable for the Tax Type-Tax Community-Tax Region Combination

Originating Stamp Mandatory

Use the drop down list box to select the Originating Stamp is applicable for the Tax Type-Tax Community-Tax Region Combination

Outward Road Permit Mandatory

Use the drop down list box to select the Outward Road Permit is applicable for the Tax Type-Tax Community-Tax Region Combination

Note: The columns "Inward Road Permit Mandatory", "Originating Stamp Mandatory" and "Outward Road Permit Mandatory" are visible only for the Tax Type - VAT / CST and Tax Community - India
