This page allows you to create a Unit of Measurement (UOM) class. You can enter its description. The UOM class can be either predefined or based on the requirement you may define your own uom class.
Select the “Create UOM Class” link under the “UOM Administration” business component.
The “Create UOM Class” page appears.
Enter the following in the “UOM Class Information” group box:
UOM Class |
A group of UOMs grouped into a class. It may be some predefined uom classes or you may define your own uom class. The system checks for the existence of the uom class and throws an error if it already exists. The system throws an error if this field is left blank. |
Description |
The description of the uom class. You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the uom class, whose descriptions are similar to the value, entered here. The system throws an error if this field is left blank. |
Automatic Conversion |
Use the drop-down list box to select from “YES” or “NO”. If “YES”, it is enough to specify the conversion between the base uom and other uoms of the class. System will automatically calculate the conversion with the other combinations. and if “NO” is selected the conversion between all UOMs of that class has to be done manually given by user. The system displays “NO” by default on launch of the page. |
Click the “Create UOM Class (Es)” pushbutton to save the UOM class information details.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline.
Select the “Edit UOM Class” link at the bottom of the page to modify the UOM class details.
The system displays the following fields:

The login id of the user who created the UOM class. |
Created Date |
The system date on which the UOM class was created. |
