This page allows you to activate / inactivate a UOM. You can carry out a search using UOM code, UOM description and status. The system will retrieve all the UOMs matching the search criteria. You can change the status of the selected UOM to “Active” or “Inactive”.
Inactivated UOM’s cannot be used in future transactions. However pending transactions will be allowed to use an inactivated UOM.
Select the “Activate / Inactivate UOM” link under the “UOM Administration” business component.
The “Activate / Inactivate UOM” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” groupbox to search for the UOM to be activated / inactivated. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
UOM |
A unique code identifying the UOM (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the UOM codes that are similar to the value entered here. |
UOM Desc. |
A textual description of the UOM (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the UOM, whose descriptions are similar to the value, entered here. |
Status |
The status of the UOM. Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the UOM. The system displays “ALL” by default. |
UOM Class |
A group of UOM grouped into a class. It may be some predefined UOM classes or you may define your own UOM class. |
UOM Class Desc. |
The textual description of the UOM Class which is to be activated or inactivated. |

Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the specified search criteria:

Decimals Allowed |
Indicates whether decimals can be entered for the UOM while recording transactions. |

The status of the UOM. It could be either “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Enter the following field:
Reason Code |
A unique code identifying the reason for activation / inactivation (Alphanumeric, 6). This reason code should have been already defined in the “Classes” component. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following fields:

A textual description of the reason code (Alphanumeric, 100). |
Created by |
The login id of the user who created the UOM. |
Create Date |
The date on which the UOM was created. |
Last Modified by |
The login id of the user who lastly modified the UOM details. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the UOM was last modified. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select an UOM for modifying the item independent conversion details and attaching notes.
Click the “Activate UOM” pushbutton to activate the UOM that is in inactive status.
Click the “Inactivate UOM" pushbutton to inactivate the UOM that is in active status.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Item Independent Conversion(s)” link at the bottom of the page to modify the conversion factors.
