This page allows you to create a customer at company level and Organization Unit (OU) level. Tell me more
Select the “Create Customer” link under the “Customer” business component.
The “Add Customer” page appears.
Select the following from the “Common Customer Information” group box.

Created At |
Use the drop-down list box to select the level at which the customer is created. The combo is loaded with all the OUs where the Customer component is deployed. The system displays the login OU by default on launch of the page. |

Numbering Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type. The system by default displays the numbering type set as default in Numbering Class component for the login OU. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Common Customer Information” group box:

Status |
The status of the customer. |

Credit statuses are in addition to the Status field. They are used for Credit Management purposes. |

The level at which the customer is created (Alphanumeric, 256). |
Enter the following details in the “Common Customer Information” group box:

Customer Code |
The unique code identifying a customer (Alphanumeric, 16) Mandatory. Customer code is mandatory, if the numbering type is manual. The system automatically generates the "Customer Code" if the numbering type is automatic. |

Customer Name |
The name of the customer corresponding to the customer code (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory. |

Customer Desc. |
The detailed description of the customer. |

Numbering type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the required “Numbering Type” Mandatory. The values in the drop-down list box are populated from the “Numbering Class” business component. |

Parent Customer Code |
Parent Customer code is customer code of the parent customer (Alphanumeric, 18). Parent Customer Code is used in Credit Management to Run Aging, if Credit Checking Level is "Up the Hierarchy" or "Total Hierarchy" and Customer Balance Adjustment; If Parent Customer is to be adjusted against the balances. Parent customer code must not be same as customer code. |

Supplier Code |
Supplier Code mapped to the customer, if Customer is also a supplier. (Alphanumeric, 16) |

Registration Date |
The date on which the customer is registered (Date format) Mandatory. The system date is displayed as the default value on launch of the page. |

The first line of the address of the customer (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory. |

The second line of the address of the customer, if any (Alphanumeric, 40). |

The mobile number of the customer (Alphanumeric, 20). |

The e-mail id of the customer (Alphanumeric, 60). |

The Universal Resource Locator / Web site of the customer (Alphanumeric, 50). |

Prospect |
Flag to search the prospect customers only. A Prospect customer is created while raising the Quotation for a new customer. A prospect customer can be made regular customer by selecting prospect customer from multiline and pressing Convert task button. |
Note: In order to convert a prospect customer to a regular customer, you have to check the “Prospect” checkbox and search for all the prospect customers by clicking the “Search” pushbutton. The search results will be displayed in the “Select Customer” multiline. Select a row from the multiline and click the “Convert” pushbutton.
Click the “Search” pushbutton.

Check the “Select” column from the multiline.
Note: Only one row must be selected to convert a prospect customer to a regular customer.
Click the “Copy” pushbutton to copy all the information of the existing customer into the login OU.
The system creates the selected customer in the Login OU in “Active” status.
Note: The Customer is created in Draft status, if Pay Term and Credit Term does not exist in any of the OUs of the login BU.
Click the “Convert” pushbutton to convert the prospect customer to regular customer.
The prospect customer will be converted to a regular customer with “Draft” status.
Click the “Create Customer” pushbutton to create the customer at company level.
The status of the customer gets updated to “Active”. The “Created At” field is updated with the login OU. The status gets updated to “Draft” if you specify the mandatory fields alone while creating the customer.
If you want to add additional details to an existing customer, you can specify the customer code and select the “Create Additional Details” link. When you are not sure about the customer code, you can carryout a search by specifying the customer related details.
To proceed carryout the following:
Select the “Create Additional Details” link at the bottom of the page to specify customer additional details.
The "Create Additional Details" link given at the bottom of the page allows you to create additional details pertaining to the customer.
The customer information created in this page will have a "Draft" status. You can specify the customer code and select the “Create Additional Details” link. If you are not sure about the customer code value, you can search and find the customer code for which you want to add additional information. The search result gets displayed in the multiline. You can check the "Select" column of the multiline and additional details can be entered for the corresponding customer code.
All the details specified in this page are saved at Logistic Organization level. The details saved at LO level can be changed only at the OU where it was created. A customer created at one OU can be inherited by another OU. Customers with “Active” status alone are available for use at other OUs. However at the time of inheriting, only the common details entered in the first instance would be inherited at the other OU. IF two OU's are in two different company's only company level information can be changed. Holding a customer at any one OU will hold all the transactions of the customer at that OU. However, the held customer can still transact with other OU's.
A prospect customer is created while raising quotation for a new customer. When you select the prospect checkbox and click the search pushbutton, all the prospect customer's will be listed in the multiline. You can convert the prospect customers to regular customers by select the prospect customer from the multiline and clicking the Convert pushbutton.
Draft customer cannot be used in transactions. Only Active customers created at one OU are available for use at other OUs. Draft /Cancelled /Credit held customers cannot be viewed at OUs other than where they have been created.
