Forecast – Consumption Report – An overview
This report provides you with the consumption report against the forecast. The report gives you the picture of the forecast consumed against the sale order for an item or planning group. You can specify the planning group or the item code as a part of the search criteria. The variant code can also be specified. The plant or the warehouse where the items are identified can also be entered. A range of start and end dates for which the consumption report is to be retrieved can also form a part of the search criteria. Based on the search criteria specified, the system retrieves and displays the forecast consumption details in the report.
The system first checks if either of planning group or item code is specified in the report filter. First case, if the item code is specified, then the system checks if the item code belongs to planning group. If the item code belongs to a planning group, then the system checks if any forecast is attached to that planning group within the item period specified in the report filter. If the given item is not a part of any planning group, then it checks for the forecasts attached to the item. Second case when the planning group is specified, the system checks if any forecast is attached to that planning group within the item period. Based on the item code or planning group selected, the system displays the sum of all the forecasts whose forecast date falls in the specific bucket, which is one week by default.
The system sums up and retrieves the ordered quantity specified in the normal sale order for the specific bucket if item code is given. If planning group is entered, then the system sums up the quantities of sale orders raised for the items in the planning hierarchy of the given planning group. The balance quantity is calculated as a difference of the ordered quantity and the quantity consumed for the selected item code or planning group. The cumulative balance quantity is calculated as summation of the balance quantity specified in the first period with the next period. Then adding the cumulative balance quantity for the current period with the previous period and so on.
