Select the “Edit Estimate Details” link at the bottom of the page.
The “Edit Estimate” page appears.
Modify the following details, if required:

Estimate No. |
The number identifying the estimate for which the details are to be modified. |

Press <Enter> key. |

The system checks whether the estimate number is left blank. If it is left blank, then the system displays an error message. |

Version |
The number identifying the version of the estimate based on which the details are to be modified. |
|
Press <Enter> key. |

|
The system checks for the version of the estimate. If the version is left blank, then the system retrieves the estimate details for the specified estimate number and version set to “zero”. If the version is not left blank, then the system retrieves the estimate details for the specified combination of estimate number and version. |
Click the “Get" pushbutton to retrieve the estimate details for the specified estimate and version combination.
The system displays the following:

Status |
The status of the estimate. |

Estimate Date |
The date on which the estimate was created. |
|
RFQ No. |
The number identifying the request for quotation. |
|
Project |
The number identifying the project. |
|
Total Cost |
The total cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the sum of the material and process cost. The system checks whether the total cost is calculated with overheads. If it is not calculated, then the system calculates it during save operation. |

Material Cost |
The material cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the sum of the standard costs multiplied by required quantity of the input items of all the product structures. |
|
Process Cost |
The process cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the sum of the sub-activity times of the resources multiplied by the standard rate of linked cost element of all the activties of all the process plans. |

Quotation No. |
The number identifying the quotation. |
|
Quotation Status |
The status of the quotation. |
|
Quotation Date |
The date on which the quotation was created. |
Modify the following details, if required:

Customer Code |
The code identifying the customer as defined under RFQ. |

Customer Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the customer. You can select from either “Existing” or “Prospect”. The values are populated from the “Customer” business component. |
The system displays the following in the “Estimate Details” multiline:

Estimate Line No. |
The line number identifying each item for which estimate has to be calculated. The new estimate line number is generated based on the Line Ref Generation Scheme as defined in the “Numbering Class” business component of the “Inventory Module” and also attaches the serial line numbers for the line items of the estimate. The system retrieves the highest serial number and adds “1” to it to display the new number. The line number is automatically generated by the system for the required quantity and quantity breakup details in the multiline. |

Item Code |
The code identifying the item for which modification has to be done. |

The system ensures that the item should not be left blank. If the item is specified and variant is not specified then the system checks whether variant exists for the item. If it exists, then the system displays an error message. The system checks whether the item or item and variant combination exists and is in “Active” status in the “Item Administration” business component. If it does not exist and is not in “Active” status then the system displays an error message. |

Variant Code |
The code or number identifying the variant of the item. |

Item Desc. |
The description of the item. The system retrieves the description based on the Estimate PS field from the “Item Administration” business component. |

Required Qty. |
The required quantity based on which the estimate has to be modified. The quantity cannot be left blank. |

UOM |
The production unit of measure of the item. |
Modify the following in the “Estimate Details” multiline, if required:

Plant |
Use the drop-down list box to select the valid plants. The system retrieves the warehouse Organization Units mapped to the estimate Organization Units from the “CIM Model” business component. The system displays “First Value” by default on launch of the page. |

Overhead % |
The overhead cost associated to the item and can be represented in terms of percentage. The overhead cost is calculated as overhead % multiplied by total cost. If overhead percentage is specified, it should be greater than zero. |
|
Margin % |
The percentage of profit added to the total cost of the item. If margin percentage is specified, it should be greater than zero. |

Unit Cost |
The unit cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the total cost divided by the quantity. |

Total Cost |
The total cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the sum of the material cost and the process cost. |
Modify the following in the “Estimate Details” multiline, if required:

Estimate Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to select the estimate basis. You can select “PP”. |

Use the drop-down list box to select the level of estimate. You can select the value “Single”. The system displays “Single” by default on launch of the page. |

Estimate PS |
The number identifying the product structure of the item being estimated. If the product structure is specified, then the system checks if the product structure exists and is in “Active” status for the login Business Unit from the “Bill of Material Model” business component. If the product structure does not exist and is not active, then the system displays an error message. If the product structure is specified, then the system checks if the product structure is valid for the specified estimate date. If it is not valid, then the system displays an error message. |

Estimate PP |
The number identifying the process plan of the item being estimated. If the Estimate Basis is set as “Process Plan” and this field is specified, then the system checks if it exists and is an active process plan for the login Business Unit from the “Process Model” business component. If it does not exist and is not valid, then the system displays an error message. |

Qty. Break 1 |
The break quantity requested for estimation. |
The system displays the following in the “Estimate Details” multiline:

The unit cost of the items estimates. The cost represents the total cost divided by quantity break. |

The total cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the sum of the material cost and the process cost. |

Modify the following in the “Estimate Details” multiline, if required:

The break quantity requested for estimation. |
The system displays the following in the “Estimate Details” multiline:

The unit cost of the items estimated. The cost represents the total cost divided by quantity break. |

Total Cost |

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the estimate number.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the selected estimate details in the multiline.
For the selected rows and for the selected estimate and version, the system deletes the line references from the estimate. To check the deleted records, the page has to be refreshed.
Click the “Authorize Estimate” pushbutton to authorize the selected estimates.
For all the selected rows, the system checks if the estimate is in “Draft” status. If it is in “Draft” status, then the system changes the status to “Authorized” and refreshes the page.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the estimate for modifying its details.
Click the “Edit Estimate” pushbutton to modify the estimate details.
The system checks the status of the estimate. If the status of the estimate is either “Authorized” or “Quoted”, then the estimate cannot be modified.
The system ensures that at least one record must be selected in the multiline. The system ensures that the login user has “All” access permission to the “Maintained By” type defined in the control unit from the “Organization Model” business component. The system saves the estimate details and refreshes the screen. The version number does not change due to this updation.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the estimate for creating its new version.
Click the “Create New Version” pushbutton to create new version of the selected estimate.
The system finds the maximum of version numbers for the specified estimate number and Business Unit. It adds “1” to it to get the next version number and saves the estimate details with the new version number and set the status to “Draft”. Finally, refresh the screen to see the updated version number.
Click the “Create Quote” pushbutton to create the quote details of the selected estimate.
For the specified estimate number and version, the system checks if the customer code or the customer name exists against which the estimate is generated. If the customer code/name does not exist the system displays an error message. If the status of the estimate is not “Authorized” then the system displays an error message.
For the specified estimate number and version, the system checks if the quote is already been created from the “Quotation” business component. If it is already created then does not the recreate the quote. The system displays the quotation date as the system date and saves the quote number and date for the specified estimate number and version. The estimate status is then set to “Quoted”.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Material Estimate” link at the bottom of the page to modify the material cost estimate details.
Select the “Edit Process Estimate” link at the bottom of the page to modify the process cost estimate details.
Select the "View Item Basic Information" link at the bottom of the page to view the item details.
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to attach notes.
The system displays the following:

Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the estimate. |

Created Date |
The date on which the estimate was created. |

Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who has last modified the estimate. |

Last Modified Date |
The date on which the estimate was last modified. |
You can select the estimate from the calling page or can retrieve it directly to modify the estimate details. The details of the selected estimate are displayed. A unique estimate line number identifying each of the item for which estimate has to be done is displayed in the multiline. Once the item details are retrieved, you can view the associated line number that is automatically generated by the system. The unit and total cost details for each specific item can be viewed in the multiline. The consolidated process, material and total cost details for all the items can be viewed in the header.
You can also insert new input items. For the added items the cost details are updated in the header and the multiline accordingly. If an existing item is to be modified, then you can make changes to the required quantity or the quantity breaks. The total, unit, process and material cost are recalculated and updated accordingly. You can also delete the selected estimate details in the multiline through the delete operation. Once the estimate is modified, you can authorize and finally quote the estimate. Further, you can also make use of the links provided at the bottom of the page to modify the material and process cost details attached to the items.
