Create Control Unit – A summary of the activity
Control units are referred to as physical/logical units that are responsible either for maintaining master data or production planning or production reporting. You can define a control unit either to perform one or all of the above functions.
You can capture the purpose, business unit and purchase order at details using this screen. Resources under the control unit are attached to the cost center for which you need to identify the appropriate cost center and the same can be identified using this screen. You can define a planning bucket that helps in identifying the bucketed or exact planning done. Along with these details, you can define the time fence information that specifies how much a work order can be amended in terms of due date. If the work order due date is within the time fence during automatic amendment of work orders, then the work order can use time fence information defined.
You can also specify the time and quantity tolerances together with the work order print details. The sequence number and the increment value of both the product structure and process plan can be defined using this screen. These details are transferred during the creation of the product structure and process plan. You need to identify the type for which the control unit needs to be defined. It may be of “Maintained By” control unit, material planner, production controller and department type. Either one or combination of the four types can be selected. Necessary help screens are incorporated to search and retrieve the control unit, cost center and time fence details. On specifying the necessary details, the system creates a control unit. You can make use of the links provided at the bottom of the page. You can use the links to modify the control unit and the user permissions for the selected control unit.
