This activity allows you to view the Rough-Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) details. Tell me more
Select the “View Rough Cut Capacity Plan” link under the “Supply Chain Planning“ business component.
The “View Rough Cut Capacity Plan” page appears.
Enter the following:

The code identifying the planning group. If the planning group is specified, it should exist in the planning group master for the login Business Unit from “Item Administration” business component and should be in “Active” status. Otherwise the system displays an error message. The system retrieves validity dates and the material planner for the specified planning group from the “Item Administration” business component. |

The system displays the following:

The description of the planning group. If the planning group is specified, then the system retrieves the planning group description from the “Item Administration” business component. |

Enter the following:
Item |
The code identifying the item. If the item code is specified, then it should be in “Active” status. The item code should be valid on the current date. |

The item code should not be left blank. If it is left blank, then the system displays an error message. If the item and the variant are specified, then the system checks for the existence of the item and variant in the item master for the Organization Unit from the “Item Administration” business component. The system also checks the specified item and variant is planned at MPS level from “Item Administration” business component. If the item and variant does not exist and is not planned, then the system displays an error message. The system also retrieves the validity dates and material planner. |

Variant Code |
The code or number identifying the variant of the item. If the variant is specified, then it should be valid in the item master for the Organisation Unit from the “Item Administration” business component. |

Note: Both the item and planning group should not be entered; you can specify either the item code or the planning group. If both are left blank or entered, then the system displays an error message. The system checks for the validity of item/planning group on the current date.

Matl. / Prodn Planner |
Use the drop-down list box to select the material or production planners defined in the control unit for which the login user has at least “View” access permission. The system defaults the material or production planner based on the save template field or based on the default specified in the “User Permission” page. |
From Date |
The date from which the rough-cut capacity planning details can be viewed. |
To Date |
The date till which the rough-cut capacity planning details can be viewed. |
Save Template |
Select the check box to save the values in the search criteria with the values specified in the current transaction to be displayed when the user revisits the screen. If the save template field is checked then the system saves the material planner details for the login user. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to search and retrieve the planning group details.
The system displays the following in the “Capacity Details” multiline:
Resource |
The id identifying the resource. If the planning group/item variant is specified, the system retrieves the resources from Bill of Resources If the planning group/item is not specified, then the system retrieves the resource details from bill of resource of items for the selected material planner. If the material or production planner is not selected, then the system retrieves the resources based on the Bill of Resources for all the MPS items for which the login user is the material/production planner. If the resource is specified, it should be valid and should be in “Active” status. If it is not valid and is not in “Active” status, then the system displays an error message. The resource should not be left blank. |
Desc. |
The description of the resource. The system retrieves the description for each resource. |
UOM |
The production unit of measure of the item. |
Period |
The period based on which the capacity details are retrieved in the multiline. If the item is specified, then the system retrieves the MPS period defined for the item from “Item Administration” business component. If the planning group is specified, then the system retrieves the MPS period defined for the planning group from “Item Administration” business component. If resource is specified, then you can use the planning bucket of the resource as period. Otherwise, the system retrieves the default MPS period defined in the “Component Parameter” page. The system splits the From date and To date into equal number of intervals by the above retrieved period. The system then retrieves the End date for each split intervals as period. |
Note: The summing of data is based on these periods identified.
The system displays the following in the “Capacity Details” multiline:
Max. Capacity |
The maximum capacity available for the resource. |
Available Capacity |
The actual capacity available for the resource based on the resource calendar. The available capacity can be calculated as Formula. |
Required Capacity |
The capacity required for the resource. The required capacity can be calculated as Formula. |
Capacity Difference |
The capacity difference is represented as the difference between the available capacity and required capacity for the resource. |
Load Factor |
The percentage that indicates the load factor of the resource. |
Click the “Show Capacity Trend” pushbutton to show capacity trend details.

Select the “Analyze Supply demand” link at the bottom of the page to view the supply details.
Select the “View Supply Details” link at the bottom of the page to view the work order details.
Select the “Inquire Company Stock” link at the bottom of the page to view free stock information.
Select the “Edit Resource Activity” link at the bottom of the page to modify the resource activity details.
Formula for calculating capacity
Maximum Capacity
The maximum capacity represents the (period start - period end ) in hrs * capacity of the resource.Available Capacity
The available capacity represents the (calendar event duration in hrs * bucket factor * resource capacity * resource efficiency) summed up for all the calendar events for the period.
Required Capacity
The required capacity represents the cumulating of activity hours planned for the period i.e. (sum of available working times in hrs - sum of free working time in hrs + sum of problem working time in hrs) in all the calendar events that fall within the period.
Load Factor
Load factor represents the required capacity hrs * 100 / available capacity hrs.
