Create Segment Dataitem
This page allows you to create the segment dataitem for the extension service. For creating the segment you can specify the segment instance as single or multiple. You can also define the direction of flow for the segment dataitem. You can also map the segment dataitem to the ILBO code.
Select the “Create Segment” hyperlink at the bottom of the “Service-X Designer” page.
The “Create Segment Dataitem” page appears.
The system displays the following in the header.
Component Name |
The description of the component name. |
Component Description |
The name of the component. |
Service Name |
The description of the service name. |
The Create Segment Dataitem page has 3 tabs.
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Segment Name |
The unique name of the segment which is to be created for the existing service. |
Instance |
Use the drop-down list box to select the instance for the segment. The combo is loaded with “Single” and “Multiple”. The system displays “Single” by default on launch of the page.

Mandatory |
Select the check box to specify whether the segment is mandatory or not. |
Combo Fill |
Select the check box if the segment fills the combo box. |
The system displays the following in the multiline.
Base Artifact |
The system indicates whether the segment is base segment or extension segment. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the segment details.
Enter the following detail in the header:
Segment Name |
Use the drop-down list box to select the segment name for defining the segment dataitem. The combo is loaded with values as defined in the “Segment” tab. |
The system displays the following in the header.
Segment Instance |
The number that identifies the instance value of the segment. The values as,

Dataitem Name |
The unique dataitem name of the segment. |
Default Value |
The default value for the segment dataitem. |

Mandatory |
Select the check box to specify whether the segment dataitem is mandatory or not. |
Direction |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the direction for the segment dataitem. The combo is loaded with “In”, “Out”, “In/Out” and “Scratch”. The system displays “In” by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following in the multiline.
Base Artifact |
The system indicates whether the segment dataitem is base dataitem or extension dataitem. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the segment dataitem details.
The system displays the following in the “Select Associate ILBO” group box.

Use the drop-down list box to select the ilbo description for mapping the segment dataitem to ilbo control. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in the “Masters”. |
The system displays the following in the “Select Associate ILBO” group box.

The description of the ilbo name. |
Enter the following detail in the “Select Associate ILBO” group box:

Use the drop-down list box to select the page name for mapping the segment dataitem to the ilbo control. The combo is loaded with pages names defined of the ILBO. |
The system displays the following in the “Select Associate ILBO” group box.
ILBO Name |
The description of the page name. |
Enter the following detail:
Segment Name |
Use the drop-down list box to select the segment name for mapping the segment dataitem to the ILBO control. The combo is loaded with all segments defined for the service. |
The system displays the following detail in the multiline.
Dataitem Name |
The unique dataitem name of the segment. |
Note: Only the mapped dataitem of the selected segment displays in the multiline.
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Control Name |
Use the drop-down list box to select the control name for mapping the segment dataitem to the ILBO control. The combo is loaded with defined control names of the selected ILBO. |
The system displays the following detail in the multiline.
View Name |
The name of the control. |
Section Name |
The name of the section. |
Base Artifact |
The system indicates whether the segment dataitem is base dataitem or extension dataitem. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the ILBO Control Mapping details.
The system save the segment dataitem details and defaults to the Service-X Designer page.
