Bottleneck Scheduling - A summary of the activity
You must specify the resource and the rule code on which activities need to be sequenced. These activities on the resource will be given priority; preceding and succeeding activities are backwards and forward scheduled respectively.
The scheduling can be done on the MRP generated date of the work order or on the base date specified. The base date is the date on which the scheduling has to be done. If base date is specified, then the system does not consider the MRP generated start date for scheduling the selected resource. You can also select the alternate resource to be used for the work order using this screen. When you initiate the bottleneck scheduling, the system checks the current activity of the resource being scheduled and does the forward and backward scheduling for each activity defined for the work order. Forward scheduling ensures that all the succeeding activities of the current activity of the work order are scheduled. Backward scheduling ensures that all the preceding activities of the current activity of the work order are scheduled.
The resource to be scheduled can be entered. You can specify the department, sequence rule code, range of start and due dates of the work order in the bottleneck sequence criteria and retrieve the work orders scheduled on the bottleneck resource.
