Edit Resource Capacity – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to add resource capacity by adding calendar events on a particular date or modify calendar events between a selected period for all resources belong to any specific department. It also gives ability to make specific day in the defined date range as non – working. You can also attach new timetable for any specific day in case of requirements. You can update capacity units and efficiency factor values, if required. You are presented with search criteria to search and retrieve the resource details. The corresponding details that match the search are displayed in the multiline. For the selected resource, you can associate different timetables along with the capacity requirements. A resource is attached to a resource calendar, which defines the working and non-working times of the resource along with its timetable details. You can follow the same timetable or can attach a different timetable as per requirement. In order to attach a timetable, you can enter the specific dates between which the timetable has to be affected. You can also select the particular weekday to which the timetable can be attached along with the corresponding new capacity details. For example, if you prefer to make a weekday as a working day between the specified dates then you can attach the required timetable to the selected weekday.

In the above table, for the resource R1 if a new timetable has to be attached to change the weekday – Saturday as a working day for the specified period of time, then the timetable TT1 can be attached to the resource R1. Further, if you need to increase the duration of the shift on weekday – Monday between the specified period, then you can attach the corresponding timetable i.e. TT2 to the resource R2. If the timetable follows 8.00 A.M to 4.00 P.M shift, then after the increase in duration, the system updates the timetable with 8.00 A.M to 6 P.M shift. You can also specify the corresponding new capacity and efficiency factor for the selected resource.
