The system checks whether any one out of production controller, department, work order no, item code, resource from and resource to fields are specified. If nothing is specified, then the system displays an error message. For the values specified, the system generates the schedule chart.

The schedule chart depicts the pictorial representation for the details specified in the filter criteria. The system retrieves all the resources for the selected department and business unit. For each of the resource selected, you can view the corresponding calendar events that indicate the working and non-working times on the resource. The resource events loaded for each resource identifies one resource event for each scheduled work order/activity/resource.

If you click an activity then change the size of the selected activity by highlighting it. In the multi-line the system displays the next 10 orders scheduled on the resource. In case of overlapping orders, the system displays those overlapping orders. When any overlapping order is selected the order has to be placed first. On right clicking the activity, you can see a menu with “Copy”, “Pack” and “Ignore” options.

1.       When the option “copy” is selected, you can change the cursor to indicate that an activity is selected. The cursor can look like a dotted rectangle. After the selecting the “Copy” option if the cursor is moved to less than material constraint date then change the color of the cursor to red. Similarly, when the cursor is moved on top of another activity change the cursor red.

When you move the cursor over a calendar event and right click it the system displays the following menu:

4 Ignore

4 Case A: Paste Forward schedule

4 Case B: Paste Backward schedule.

4 Case C: Paste Forward finite schedule

4 Case D: Paste Backward finite schedule.

When paste is clicked the activity time bar is dropped. The implication when time bar is dropped:

Case C: Use start date and forward schedule the activity.

Case D: Use start date and backward schedule the activity.

Case A: Use start date and schedule forward the activity dropped to arrive at due date.

Case B: Use due date and schedule backward the activity dropped to arrive at start date.

2.       When the option “Pack” is selected, select all orders preceding the selected order including the selected order. The first order is placed at current date and time. The orders are sorted in the order of starting time. Every order takes the end time of previous order as start date/time. For orders in status greater than or equal to “Started” you can use balance time on operation for scheduling.
