This activity allows you to view the capacity loading details for the resource. Tell me more
Select the “Resource Loading ” link under the “Scheduling“ business component.
The “Resource Loading” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Selection Criteria” group box:
|
Resource No. |
The number identifying the resource for which you can view the load details. The resource should be defined in resource master and should belong to the selected department. |
|
|
Help facility available. |
The system displays the following detail in the “Selection Criteria” group box:
|
Desc. |
The system retrieves the resource description from resource master for the specified resource. |
Enter the following in the “Selection Criteria” group box:
|
Department |
Use the drop-down list box to select the departments for which the login user has at least “View” access permission. The system displays the default department based on the save template or as specified in user permission page. Otherwise, the system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
|
From Date |
The starting date from which the resource loading details must be retrieved. The system displays the default date based on the save template or sets “System Date” as the default date. The date should not be left blank and should be in valid date format. This field should be less than or equal to current date .Mandatory. |
|
To Date |
The ending date till which the resource loading details must be retrieved. The system displays the default date based on the save template or sets “System Date plus one month” as the default date. The date should not be left blank and should be in valid date format. Mandatory. |
|
Period |
Use the drop-down list box to select the periods based on which the resource loading details are calculated and displayed in the multiline. You can select from "Daily", "Weekly", Monthly" or “Blank”. The system displays the default period based on the save template or as specified in user permission. Otherwise, the system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. The multiline details for a resource loading are displayed based on the period "Daily", "Weekly" or Monthly". |
|
% Under Load |
The percentage that indicates the resource being under loaded. The system displays the default value from save template table for the login user or displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. If under load percentage is specified, it should be greater than zero. |
|
% Over Load |
The percentage that indicates the resource being over loaded. The system displays the default value from save template table for the login user or displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. If over load percentage is specified, it should be greater than zero. |
|
Sort By |
Use the drop-down list box to select the sort options used to display the resource details based on the sort options. You can select from "Resource No", "Start Date", "Load Factor" or "Blank". The system displays the default period based on the save template or as specified in user permission. Otherwise, the system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the capacity details that matches the search criteria in the multiline.
The system retrieves the details in the multiline based on the sort criteria defined for the specified resource. If over load % is specified, then the system displays the resource details for resources having load factor (required capacity/ available capacity * 100) greater than the specified value. If under load % is specified then the system displays only those resource details having load factor (required capacity/ available capacity * 100) less than the specified value. The system rounds off all capacity values based on capacity precisions and displays the resource loading details based on the sort order selected.
Click the “Show Resource Loading Trend” pushbutton to view the graphical representation of the capacity details.
Enter the following in the “Selection Criteria” group box:
|
Save Template |
Select the checkbox to save the details of the search criteria that can be viewed when the user revisits the screen. The system leaves the box “Unchecked” by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following in the “Capacity Details” multiline:
|
Resource No. |
The number identifying the resource. |
|
Desc. |
The system retrieves the resource description from resource master for the resources retrieved. |
|
UOM |
The system retrieves the UOM from resource master for the resources retrieved. |
|
Start Date |
The starting date of each period for which the resource loading details are retrieved. For example, if from date is specified as "11-08-2003" and to date as "25-08-2003" and if the period is “Daily” then there would be "15" records in the multiline depicting each day. If the period were “Week” then there would be two records in the multiline having start dates as "11-08-2003" and "18-08-2003" and like wise. |
|
Max. Capacity |
The maximum capacity of the resource. The system computes the maximum capacity as per the Formula mentioned below. |
|
Available Capacity |
The available capacity of the resource. The system computes the available capacity as per the Formula mentioned below. |
|
Required Capacity |
The required capacity of the resource. The system computes the required capacity as per the Formula mentioned below. |
|
Capacity Difference |
The difference between the available and required capacities of the resource. The system computes the capacity difference as per the Formula mentioned below. |
|
Load Factor |
The percentage that indicates the load factor of the resource. The system computes the load factor as per the Formula mentioned below. |
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “View Dispatch List” link at the bottom of the page to view the resource dispatch details.
Select the “Capacity Requirements Plan” link at the bottom of the page to view the report for the capacity requirement plan.
Formulas for computation of various capacity and load factor
Maximum Capacity
If period field is blank, then the system calculates maximum capacity as (Calendar event duration in hrs * Capacity of the resource for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
If period field is selected, then the system calculates maximum capacity as the summation by period that is, (the calendar event duration in hrs * capacity of the resource for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
Available Capacity
If period is blank, the system calculates Available Capacity as (Calendar event duration in hrs * resource capacity for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
If period is selected, then the system calculates Available Capacity as the summation by period that is (Calendar event duration in hrs * resource capacity for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
Required Capacity
If period field is blank, then the system calculates the required capacity as (Available working times in hrs - Free working time in hrs + Problem working time in hrs for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
If period field is selected, then the system calculates the required capacity as the summation by period that is, (Available working times in hrs - Free working time in hrs + Problem working time in hrs for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
Capacity Difference
If period field is blank, then the system calculates the capacity difference as (Available capacity hrs - Required capacity hrs for each bucket (calendar event)) in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
If period field is selected, then the system calculates the capacity difference as the summation by period i.e. (Available capacity hrs - Required capacity hrs for each bucket (calendar event)} in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
Load Factor
If period field is blank, then the system calculates the load factor as (Required capacity hrs*100 / Available capacity hrs for each bucket (calendar event)} in the calendar events between From Date and To Date.
If period field is selected, then the system calculates the load factor as (Required Capacity hrs*100 / Available capacity hrs for each period).
