Create Bill Of Distribution – A summary of the activity

The bill of distribution to be created can be selected either by entering the code identifying the bill of distribution or by making use of the copy facility.  The items may be valid in more than one warehouse. In such case you can define a bill of distribution for each warehouse. For example, if an item is valid in three warehouses (wh1, wh2 and wh3) and the demand for the item in warehouse wh1 is not satisfied, then you can raise a stock transfer request from the other two warehouses.

The page also allows you to set priority for each warehouse based on which the stock can be transferred. You can specify the transit time taken to transfer between warehouses, the transport lot size that can be transferred along with the effective dates of the transfer. The mode of transport between warehouses can also be chosen. The system checks for the priority of each warehouse and start with a warehouse that has the highest priority.  If the demand for the item is not satisfied even after the transfer of stock from this warehouse, then it checks another warehouse with the next highest priority.
