Using online help

This page allows you to create the details pertaining to the salesperson. The salesperson represents the company while interacting with the customers and act as a primary source for order generation either directly or through sales channel. The sales person could either be an employee of the company or an external agent.

In this page you can specify the type of the salesperson. The sales person can be an employee of the company or an external agent.   If the salesperson is an employee of the company, the details of the employee get populated in the respective fields on giving the employee code. If he is not an employee, you have to specify details, which includes salesperson name, salesperson code, sales channel, effective date from, effective date to, target code, target description, territory code, territory description and personal information pertaining to the sales person.

The “Create Sales Person” page appears.

The system displays the following details:

Status

The status of the salesperson. The possible status available are:

 
  • New – indicates the status of the sales person when the page is launched.

 
  • Active – indicates the newly created sales person.

 
  • Deleted – indicates the deleted sales person.

 
  • Inactive – indicates the deactivated sales person.

Sales Person Code

The unique code assigned to the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 6) Mandatory. The sales person code must not have any special characters or spaces in between.

Employee Code

The unique employee code of to the sales person, if he is an employee of the company (Alphanumeric, 20).

 

Press <enter> key.

 

The system displays the OU at which the sales person is registered.

 

The system displays the first name of the sales person.

Note: The system populates the name and address details of the employee, if the employee code is specified.

The system displays the following detail:

Sales Person Registered At

The OU at which the sales person is registered.

First Name

The first name of the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 77) Mandatory.

Middle Name

The middle name of the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 77).

Last Name

The last name of the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 77).

Effective Date From

The date from which the salesperson is active in the OU (Date Format) Mandatory.

Effective Date To

The date till which the salesperson is active in the OU (Date Format). This field must be greater than the “Effective Date From” field.

Sales Person Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the salesperson Mandatory. The values in the drop-down list box are populated from the “Category” component.

Preferred Sales Channel

Use the drop-down list box to select the channel. The values in the drop-down list box are populated from the “Category” business component.

Target Code

The unique code identifying the target set for the salesperson. The target code is defined in the “Category” business component (Alphanumeric, 6).

Target Desc.

The description of the target code. The target description is defined in “Category” business component.

Territory Code

The unique code identifying the territory from where the sales person operate (Alphanumeric, 6). The territory code is defined in the “Category” business component.

Address Line1

The first line of the address of the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory.

Address Line2

The second line of the address of the salesperson, if any (Alphanumeric, 40).

Address Line3

The third line of the address of the salesperson, if any (Alphanumeric, 40).

City

The name of the city (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory.

State

The name of the state (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory.

Country

The name of the county (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory.

Zip

The code identifying the address area (Alphanumeric, 20) Mandatory.

Phone1

The phone number of the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 18) Mandatory.

Phone2

The alternate phone number of the salesperson, if any (Alphanumeric, 18).

Fax

The fax number of the salesperson (Alphanumeric, 40).

Email

The e-mail id of the salesperson, if any (Alphanumeric, 60) Mandatory.

URL

The uniform resource locator pertaining to the e-mail id (Alphanumeric, 50).

The status field gets updated to “Active”. The system populates the following fields:

Created By

The login user ID of the person who has created the “Sales Person” business component.

Created Date

The date on which the “Sales Person” business component was created.
