This activity allows you to create a manual stock transfer request for an item from the specified warehouses (Transfer Warehouse) to the specified warehouses (Receipt Warehouse). Tell me more

The “Create Stock Transfer Request” page appears.

Item Code

The code identifying the Item for which the Stock Transfer Request has to be created. Mandatory. The system checks for the existence of the Item code in the Inventory Master for the login Business Unit. The Item must be in “Active” status.

Variant Code

The code that identifies the variant of an Item being created. If a variant is specified, it should be valid for the selected Item Code.

Note: For the Item Code/Var, the system checks if the login user has “All” access permissions to its Material Planner. If the Item has no variants attached to it, then the system retrieves the Description of the Item. If the Item has variants, the system retrieves the Variant and Description.

The system displays the following:

Desc.

The description of the Item/Item variant. For the Item Code and Variant combination the system retrieves the description of the item.

Request Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the stock transfer request. You can select from “Requested” or “Released”. The system displays “Requested” by default on launch of the page.

Transfer Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of transfer. You can select from “Single Step” or “Multiple Step”. The system displays “Single Step” by default on launch of the page. If the selected request Status is “Requested”, then this field can be blank. If the selected Request Status is “Released”, then this field cannot be blank.

The system displays the following:

Request No.

The unique number that identifies the request to be created. The system automatically generates the request no.

From Warehouse

The transfer warehouse from where the requested item has to be shipped. Mandatory. The system ensures that the From Warehouse exists in the Inventory Master for the login Business Unit.

The system displays the From Plant associated with the From Warehouse from where the requested item has to be shipped and the production UOM associated with the item in that warehouse.

The system displays the following:

From Plant

The transfer plant from where the requested item has to be shipped.  Mandatory.

Note: The Item Code and Variant should be valid for the From Warehouse and From Plant.

Stock Transfer Date

The date on which the Item is to be moved from From Warehouse. Mandatory. Stock Transfer Date should not be blank. If left blank, the system defaults the system date. The Date should not be earlier than the system date. Default date is set to “System date”. 

To Warehouse

The receipt Warehouse that receives the Item being moved from the From Warehouse. Mandatory. The system ensures that To Warehouse should exist in the Inventory Master for the login Business Unit. If "From Warehouse" is specified, the "To Warehouse" should be different.

The system displays the To Plant associated with the To Warehouse.

Note: The "From Warehouse" and "To Warehouse" should belong to the same Business Unit. If system parameter "validate stock transfer against Bill of distribution" is set to Yes, then Bill of distribution should have been defined for the item between the from warehouse and the To warehouse.

The system displays the following:

To Plant

The receipt plant that receives the item being moved from the From Plant. Mandatory.

Qty.

The quantity of the item that is to be moved from the From Warehouse to the To Warehouse. Mandatory. The quantity should be greater than zero.

The system displays the following:

UOM

The production unit of measure of the item.

Receipt Date

The date on which the Item is available at the To Warehouse. Receipt date should not be blank. If left blank, the system defaults the system date. Receipt date should be greater than or equal to the stock Transfer Date.

The system displays the following:

Status

The status of the stock transfer request, which is updated upon saving the request. It can be “Requested” or “Released”.

Problem

The problem associated with the Stock Transfer Request, which is updated upon saving the request.

From Zone

The identifier of the zone in the From Warehouse. If this field is entered, it should exist for the From Warehouse.

From Bin

The identifier of the bin in the From Warehouse. If this field is entered, it should exist for the From Zone.

To Zone

The identifier of the zone in the To Warehouse. If this field is entered, it should exist for the To Warehouse.

The identifier of the bin in the To Warehouse. If this field is entered, it should exist for the To Zone.

Lot No.

The lot number of the Item being moved from the From Warehouse to the To Warehouse only if the Item is Lot No controlled.

Starting Serial No.

The starting serial number of the Item being moved from the From Warehouse to the To Warehouse only if the Item is Serial No controlled.

Ending Serial No.

The ending serial number of the Item being moved only if the Item is Serial No controlled and computed based on the quantity being moved.

The system displays the status and the problem (if any) associated with the Item and will generate the unique Stock Transfer Request No for each row in the multiline and updates the Business Unit, Item, Var, Organizational Unit, From Warehouse, From Zone, From Bin, To Warehouse, To Zone, To Bin, Quantity, UOM, Stock Transfer Date, and Receipt Date details. After processing all the rows, the system retrieves the stock transfer details and displays it in the screen.

The login user ID and the system date are updated in the “Created By” and “Created Date” fields.

Created By

The login user ID of the person who has created the Stock Transfer Request.

Created Date

The date on which the Stock Transfer Request was created.
