Hold / Release Work Orders – A summary of the activity
You can hold a work order temporarily by putting it on hold during manufacture. If a work order is put to hold, then modification or shop floor reporting of the work order is not allowed until the work order has been released from hold. The work orders that are in “Release” status but not completed can be put to hold.
In order to hold/release the work order, you can make use of the search criteria to search and retrieve the work order details by entering the work order, item, sale order and the hold reason. On entering the necessary details, you can initiate the search operation and display the corresponding details in the multiline. The work orders can be put to hold for reasons like quality, payment defaults or material non-availability. You can specify the reason codes that identify the hold reason of the work order.
You can select the appropriate pushbutton to either put the work order to hold or release the work order that has been put to hold. After providing the required information in the header, you can select the rows in the multiline and can hold the work order or can release the work order that was put to hold. You are provided with a “Maintain Code” link beneath the page to view the codes maintained for the work order.
