Record Tank’s Dip Reading

Physical stocks for all the storage tanks are taken through dip process daily before the start of operation. Dip records of all storage tanks are captured to know the actual stock of Items available in the tanks. The current dip reading is entered and system calculates the Volume and Weight based on calibration chart provided for the tank.
Select the “Continuous Process Model” activity under the “Record Tank’s Dip Reading” business component.
The “Record Tank’s Dip Reading” page appears.

fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.
Select from the following:

Mode |
Use the drop-down list box to select the mode to record tank’s dip reading. The combo is loaded with “Create”, “Maintain”, “View”, “Current Stock” and “Trend of Tank Stock”. The system displays “Create” by default on launch of the page. |
Select from the following:
|
Record At |
Use the drop-down list box to select the region at which the tank dip reading has to be recorded. The combo is loaded with “OU”, “Warehouse”, “Tank” and “Sphere”. The system displays “OU” by default on launch of the page. |

Warehouse Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse. The combo is loaded with “All” when “Record At” combo is selected with OU option. |

Tank/Sphere Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the tank details. Warehouses for which Tanks/Sphere is defined in the Tank Information page is retrieved and loaded with all tanks / sphere. |
Enter the following details:

Warehouse Code From |
The starting range of the warehouse code from which you wish to search and retrieve the details. |
|
Warehouse Code To |
The ending range of the warehouse code until which you wish to search and retrieve the details. |
Note: The fields Warehouse Code From and Warehouse Code To are visible when the Record At combo is selected with OU option.
Enter the following details:

From Date |
The starting date range of the stock details from which you wish to search and retrieve the details. |
|
To Date |
The ending date range of the stock details until which you wish to search and retrieve the details. |
Note: The fields From Date and To Date are visible when the Mode is selected as “Trend of Tank Stock”.
Click the “Retrieve” pushbutton to retrieve the details.
Note: when the Mode is selected as “Trend of Tank Stock”, all the confirmed documents are retrieved to display the stock details.
When the Mode is selected as “Current Stock”, all the documents in Draft ,Fresh and Confirmed status will be fetched.
Based on the search criteria specified the system displays the following.

Warehouse |
The detailed description of the warehouse based on the specified search criteria. |

Tank |
The detailed description of the tank based on the specified search criteria. |
|
Sphere |
The detailed description of the sphere based on the specified search criteria. |
The system displays the details in the “Tank Dip Details” multiline.

Warehouse Code |
A unique code identifying the warehouse. |
|
Tank / Sphere |
The detailed description of the tank / sphere. |
Note: The fields Warehouse Code and Tank / Sphere are visible when the Record At combo is selected with “OU”.
When the Record At combo is selected with Warehouse option, the system hides the Warehouse Code option and displays the Tank / Sphere details.

Item Code |
A unique code identifying the item. |

Variant Code |
A unique code identifying the item variant. |
Select from the following in the “Tank Dip Details” multiline:

Shift |
Use the drop-down list box to select the shift details. |

Recording Date |
The date on which the dip reading is recorded. |

Recording Time |
The time at which the dip reading is recorded. |
Select from the following in the “Tank Dip Details” multiline:

Dip Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the dip type. The combo is loaded with values saved in Process Manufacturing Set up –Maintain User defined category value for the Category value – Dip Type. |
Enter the following details in the “Tank Dip Details” multiline:

Current Reading |
The current reading of the tank. |
|
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the reading. This is defaulted with the UOMs as defined for each Tank Type in ‘Tank Information' activity. |
The system displays the following details in the “Tank Dip Details” multiline.

Earlier Reading |
Indicates the tank’s earlier dip reading. During the View mode, the readings are displayed in the ascending order dates. (i.e. Earlier date on top.) |

Volume |
The volume of the tank dip reading. |
|
Volume UOM |
The unit of measurement of the volume. This is defaulted with the Volume UOMs as defined for each Tank Type in ‘Tank Information' activity. |

Weight |
The weight of the tank. |
|
Wt UOM |
The unit of measurement of the weight. Note: System validates that conversion exist between Volume UOM and Weight UOM, Weight UOM is the UOM specified for the item in Item Administration component. |

Temp |
The current temperature reading of the tank. |
|
Temp UOM |
The unit of measurement of the temperature. |
The system displays the following details in the “Tank Dip Details” multiline.

Item Description |
The detailed description of the item. |
|
Transaction Number |
A unique number identifying the transaction. |
|
Status |
Indicates the status of the transaction. The status can be “Confirmed”, or “Fresh” or “Draft”. |
|
Created By |
The login user who recorded the tank dip reading. |
|
Created Date |
The date on which the tank dip reading was created. |
|
Modified By |
The login user who modified the tank dip reading. |
|
Modified Date |
The date on which the tank dip reading was modified. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton.
Note: The “Save” pushbutton is visible when the Mode is selected as “Create” and “Maintain”.
During Create Mode
The system creates the Transaction Number in Fresh status for warehouse and Tank / sphere combination.
For the subsequent combination, the system generates the Transaction Number in Draft status.
During Maintain Mode
The system updates the minimum recording date and time of the Transaction Number in Fresh status.
Click the “Confirm” pushbutton to confirm the details.
Note: Only Fresh status of the transaction can be confirmed.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the details.
Note: The “Confirm” and “Delete” pushbuttons are visible when the Mode is selected as “Maintain”
Draft and Fresh status can be deleted.
