This page allows creating deployment roles in the system. On page launch, the system displays the already available deployment roles in the system. A new deployment role can be created using the “Create Role” link at the bottom of the page. On clicking the link, the system displays a pop-up window “Create Role”. You can specify the deployment role, role description and select the system role under which the deployment roles need to be created.

The “Role Master” page appears.

The name of the deployment role.

This field is hyperlinked to display a pop-up window “Create Role” to create deployment roles in the system. You can specify the deployment role, role description and select the system role under which the deployment roles need to be created.

The system displays the following:

System Role

The system role under which the deployment role has to be created. Click the hyperlinked system role to launch a pop-up window “View SystemRole Details” which retrieves and displays the lists of components / activities applicable for the system role.

The system displays different values for System Role in licensed and non-licensed environments. The possible values in a non-licensed environment are as follows:

  • ‘Depsysrole’ – Applicable for deployment components like “Deployment Administration”, “Report Customization Component”, “Portal Mapping”, etc.

  • ‘Defaultsysrole – Any application component can be mapped under this.

In a role-based license enabled environment, the values which are defined for the customer using ‘VwApplication license’ component are imported in this field.

Enterprise Roles

Click the hyperlinked image ‘’ to launch the “Map Enterprise Role” screen to map the deployment role to OU and component / activity under that OU.

 

Task Privileges

Click the hyperlinked image ‘’ to launch the “Maintain Task Privileges” screen to map deployment role to OU and the tasks under the selected component / activity / UI.

Map User OU

Click the hyperlinked image ‘’ to launch the “Set Role to User OU mapping” screen to map the deployment role to OU and user.
