Define Asset Structure Hierarchy – A summary of the activity
An asset structure is a pre-defined template that can be used for creating equipment that has similar characteristics. In this activity, you can create a hierarchy of asset structures, which is later used for establishing the parent-child relationship among the equipment that are created using the asset structures.
An asset structure is considered as a “parent structure”, if one or more “child structures” are defined for it. A single asset structure can appear in more than one place in the hierarchy, provided it is not a direct ancestor to itself that is, cyclic dependency of asset structures should be avoided.
You can select the asset structure for which the hierarchy must be defined in the “Asset Structure Code Selection” page. You can define asset structure hierarchy in the “Build Asset Structure Hierarchy” page.

Build asset structure hierarchy
You can create a hierarchy of asset structures, which is later used for establishing the parent-child relationship among the equipment that are created using the asset structures.
Select the “Select Asset Structure Code” page, to select the asset structure code for building hierarchy.
Use the “Build Asset Structure Hierarchy” page to build the asset structure hierarchy.
View the asset structure details before building the hierarchy
You can view the parameters, spare parts, trouble shooting guides, tasks or procedure categories that are attached to the asset structure, for which hierarchy is built.
Use the “Asset Structure Parameters” page, to view the attached parameters.
Use the “Asset Structure Spare Parts” page, to view the attached spare parts.
Use the “Asset Structure TSGs” page, to view the attached spare parts.
Use the “Asset Structure Task/SP” page, to view the attached task or procedure categories.
