This page allows you to define parameters for maintainable entities in an organization. Tell me more.
Select the “Create Parameter” link under the “Equipment Induction” business component.
The “Create Parameter” page appears.
Enter the following fields:

Parameter |
A unique identifier for the parameter (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. This can be a combination of characters and numbers and should not be left blank. Enter the textual description of the parameter in the edit box alongside (Alphanumeric, 150). |

Zoom facility available. |

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the parameter. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” to disable the parameter from being accessed in other activities. The system displays “Active” by default. |

Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the parameter. The system provides the following options. |

The system displays “Attribute” by default. |

UOM |
The unit of measurement for the parameter (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the unit of measurement is already defined in “UOM administration” business component in Inventory Management System of Ramco Corporate Solutions. Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the parameter type is set as “Range” or “Consumption”. |
Click the “Create” pushbutton to create the parameter.
The system creates the parameter and displays the following details in the “Record Statistics” group box:

The login ID of the currently logged in user. |

Created Date |
The current date and time. |

Last Modified By |
In this activity, the system displays the login ID of the currently logged in user. |

Modified Date |
In this activity, the system displays the current date and time. |

Select the “Attribute Parameter Values” link at the bottom of the page to define values for attribute parameters.
Creating a parameter – An overview
In this page, you can enter a unique code for a parameter and provide a description and status for it. You can also identify the type of the parameter as technical, attribute, range or consumption.
For parameters of type “Range” or “Consumption”, you can select the unit of measurement, using the help facility. The system sets the parameter creation date as the current date and stores the name of the currently logged in user.

Parameters can be classified as technical, attribute, range and consumption.
Set the “Type” field to “Technical”, to create a technical parameter.
Set the “Type” field to “Attribute”, to create an attribute parameter.
Set the “Type” field to “Range”, to create a range parameter.
Set the “Type” field to "Consumption", to create a consumption parameter.
