Using Online Help

This page allows you to move the equipment from one location to another and / or from one parent equipment to another. Tell me more.

The “Move Equipment” page appears.

The system displays the following fields:

Eqp. Movement No.

The number automatically generated by the system, to keep a record of the equipment movement.

Date

The date and time on which the equipment is moved. The system displays the current date and time.

Desc.

The reason for which the equipment is being moved (Alphanumeric, 150).

 

Zoom facility available.

The system displays the following fields:

Eqp.

The equipment that must be moved.

 

The description of the equipment is displayed alongside.

Last Moved On

The date on which the equipment was last moved. If the equipment had not been moved before, the system displays the date on which the equipment was attached to its parent equipment.

 

The system displays alongside, the time at which the equipment was last moved.

Move Date

The date on which the equipment is moved (Date Format). Mandatory. Ensure that the date entered here,

 
  • Is not a future date.

 
  • Is not earlier than the date on which the equipment was attached to its parent. If there is no attachment date for the equipment, ensure that the date entered is not earlier that the installation date of the equipment.

 
  • Is not earlier than the date on which the equipment entered in the “New Parent” field is installed.

 

Enter the time at which the equipment is moved, in the edit box alongside (Time Format).

The system displays the following field:

Current Loc.

The current location of the equipment.

 

The description of the current location is displayed alongside.

New Location

The location to which the equipment must be moved (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure that the location is already defined in the “Create Location” activity of the “Maintenance Organization” business component and is in “Active” status. The system displays the current location, by default.

Press <Enter>. The system displays the description of the location.

The system displays the following field:

Current Parent

The parent equipment of the equipment.

 

The system displays the description of the equipment alongside.

New Parent

The parent equipment to which the equipment is to be attached (Alphanumeric, 30) Ensure that the equipment,

 
  • Is already defined in the “Create Equipment” activity and is in the “Active” status.

 
  • Is of type “Normal” or “Tool”.

 
  • Is not attached in the equipment hierarchy as a child equipment of the equipment that is moved.

 

The system displays the current parent by default.

Press <Enter>. The system displays the description of the equipment.

Note: Ensure that the new location and the new parent equipment is not the same as the current location and current parent equipment.

The system displays the following field:

Current Eqp. Condition

The present condition of the equipment.

 

The system displays the description of the equipment alongside.

New Eqp. Condition

Use the drop-down list box to specify the condition of the equipment after it is moved. The system lists all the equipment conditions that are defined in the "Define Equipment Condition” activity and which are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank, if you do not wish to specify any equipment condition. The system leaves the field blank, by default.

 

The system displays the description of the condition alongside.

Ref. WO

The work order by which the equipment was moved (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure that the work order is already defined in the “Create WO” activity of the “Work Order” business component.

Reason for the movement of the equipment.  (Alphanumeric, 150).

Note: Before moving the equipment, ensure that there are no work orders other than  “Closed” or “Cancelled” status, created for the equipment.

 You can record the equipment details such as:

The system records the details of the movement under a unique transaction number and stores the date and time of moving the equipment.

Record the equipment movement details

 Enter the date and time on which the equipment is moved, in the “Move Date” field.

The system generates a number for the equipment movement transaction.

If the source of updation of parameter values for the moved equipment has been set to “Parent”, the parameter values of the equipment are updated from its new parent.
