Create Route – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to create a route. A route is a physical path that is defined for carrying out the inspection and lubrication activities on equipment and location in a plant. It is a sequenced set of equipment or location and inspection points and is created based on the route plan that is normally followed for inspection and lubrication jobs by an inspector or “Oil-man” in a plant.
You can specify the route so created, in the “View Lubrication Checklist” activity and view the lubrication jobs that must done on equipment or location on the route. You can also use a route for carrying out inspection on the equipment or location, by specifying the route in the “Create Inspection Order” activity of the “Inspection Order” business component.
You can define a route using a unique code and provide a description and status for it. You can then specify the equipment or location and the inspection point on the equipment or location, on which inspection or lubrication must be performed and the sequence or the order in which the inspection or lubrication must be done.
You can set a route that is defined in this activity as a master route in the “Set Options” activity. The master route will be the route that will be followed by default for carrying out inspection and lubrication jobs in a plant.
The system creates the route and stores the login ID of the user who created the route along with the date and time at which the route was created.
