Selecting equipment or location for inserting parameter values

This page enables you to select the equipment or location for which parameter values must be inserted. Tell me more.

Select the “Insert Parameter Values” link under the “Parameter Log” business component.

The “Select Equipment / Location” page appears.

Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the equipment or location for which the parameter value must be inserted:

Update On	Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to insert parameter values on equipment or location. The system provides the options “Equipment” and “Location”. The system displays “Equipment”, by default.
Code	The identifier of the equipment or location for which parameter values must be inserted (Alphanumeric, 30).

Click the “Update Parameter Log” link provided alongside, to insert the parameter values for the equipment or location.

To search for an equipment or location

Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the equipment or location for which parameter values must be inserted. Data entry in the following fields is optional.

Update On	Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to insert parameter values on equipment or location. The system provides the options “Equipment” and “Location. The system displays “Equipment” by default.
Code	The identifier of the equipment or location for which parameter values must be inserted (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all equipment or locations containing code that is similar to the code entered here.
Desc.	The description of the equipment or location (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all equipment and locations with description that is similar to the description entered here.
Location	The location of the equipment (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the location in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all equipment that are associated to a location similar to the location entered here.
Parameter	The parameter of the equipment or location for which you wish to insert the values (Alphanumeric, 30). The system retrieves the all equipment or location to which parameters similar to the parameter entered here is attached.
Classification	The classification to which the equipment or location belongs (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the classification in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all equipment or location to which similar classifications are attached.

Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the equipment or location.

The system retrieves the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

Code	The equipment or location retrieved by the system.
Desc.	The description of the equipment or location.
Location	The location of the equipment.

Click the hyperlinked equipment or location code in the multiline, to insert its parameter values.

Select Equipment / Location – An overview

This page enables you to select the equipment or location for which parameter values must be inserted. You can enter the equipment or location directly. Otherwise you can carry out a search based on the equipment or location, the parameter group that belongs to the equipment / location and the parameter that must be updated. Based on the filter criteria entered, the system retrieves the equipment / location for which parameters must be updated.
