Configure RTI Updates – A summary of the activity

With plant operations getting increasingly automated, there is a growing need for interfacing real time factory automation systems with the current system. Today plants have a variety of real time systems such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory Data Acquisition System (SCADA) software for Vibration Analysis, Bar Coding devices, Hand-held data collectors and other systems for Operations and Maintenance of their assets. The RTI or the Real Time Integration system is used for collecting online plant data from a variety of DCS. It provides the link between the plant automation systems and the Ramco application for automatic data collection.

This activity allows you to configure the system to update parameter values from the Distributed Control System (DCS) of a plant through the Real Time Integration system. The measurement points for the parameters are identified as “Tags (Pseudonyms)” in the DCS. These tags are in turn identified with a tag in the server of the Real Time Integration system, and the tag in the RTI server is identified as a parameter in the system.

You can configure the system for the first time in this activity. You can also modify an existing configuration.
