Update When? |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the circumstance at which the parameter value must be updated. The system provides the following options: |
| |
| |
|
Parameter Value – Event Low |
If the “Parameter Type” is “Attribute”, enter the value to be updated to the parameter for the digital output “0” (Alphanumeric, 30). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the parameter is of the type “Attribute”. Ensure that the value entered for the attribute parameter is already defined in the “Create Parameter” activity of the “Equipment Induction” business component and is in the “Active” status. |
|
|
If the parameter type is “Range” or “Consumption”, enter the minimum value crossing which, the parameter value must be updated from the RTI. |
|
|
Help facility available. |
|
Parameter Value – Event High |
If the “Parameter Type” is “Attribute”, enter the value to be updated to the parameter for the digital output “1” (Alphanumeric, 30). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the parameter is of the type “Attribute”. Ensure that the value entered for the attribute parameter is already defined in the “Create Parameter” activity of the “Equipment Induction” business component and is in the “Active” status. |
|
If the parameter type is “Range” or “Consumption”, enter the maximum value at which parameter value must be updated from the RTI. Ensure that the value entered is greater than the value entered in the “Parameter Value – Event Low” field.
|
Ensure that the value entered in this field is not the same as the value entered in the “Parameter Value – Event Low” field.
|
|
Help facility available. |

Configuring real time integration for updating parameter values – An overview
This page allows you to configure the real time integration system for the updation of parameter values from the DCS of the plant. You can retrieve the existing configuration by carrying out a search based on the following details:
The equipment or location whose parameters you wish to update from the RTI.
The description of the equipment and its status.
The location of the equipment.
The parameter, the value of which, must be updated from the RTI.
The classification to which the equipment or location belongs.
The inspection point of the equipment on which the parameter is measured.
The system retrieves the parameter along with the equipment and the inspection point to which the parameter belongs. You can enter the following details and configure the parameter to receive inputs from the RTI.
Note: Only those parameters, whose source of updation has been set as “RTI” in the “Change Parameter Source” page of the “Create/Edit Equipment” activities of the “Equipment Induction” business component, can be configured for updation from the RTI.
The tag ID of the RTI from which values are updated.
Whether the value is a delta value or a new value. This applies only for a consumption parameter.
Note: Delta: The actual increase in the parameter value over and above the previous recorded value alone needs to be specified. The system will automatically compute the total parameter value by adding this value to the existing parameter value.
New: The total value of the parameter as of date, after having added on the latest value to the previous parameter value. This option can be used when the metered value (Cumulative) of a consumption parameter is directly entered whenever updates are made.
The time interval for receiving the inputs.
Whether the parameter must be updated only when there is a change in the previously recorded parameter value.
When attribute parameters are measured in the RTI, the yield is a digital output of 0 and 1. You can specify the value that must be updated as the parameter value for the digital output of 0 and 1.
For range and consumption parameters, you can specify the lower and upper control limits crossing which the value is to be updated for the parameter.
“Create Equipment” under the “Equipment Induction” business component. Parameters and inspection points must have been attached to the equipment.
“Create Location” under the “Maintenance Organization” business component. Parameters and inspection points must have been attached to the location.
“Create Parameter” under the “Equipment Induction” business component.
