Select the “Analyse Failures” link under the “Trouble Shooting Guide” business component.
The “Select Equipment” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for equipment for which failure analysis must be carried out:
Eqp. |
The equipment for which failure analysis must be carried out (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the equipment in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the equipment whose values are similar to the value entered here. |
Desc. |
The description of the equipment (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the equipment whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. |
Location |
The location of the equipment (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the location in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the equipment for which the locations are similar to the location entered here. |
Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the equipment for which failure analysis must be carried out. The system provides the options: “Normal”, “Rotable” and “Tool”. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the equipment irrespective of their type. The system displays “Normal” by default. |
Criticality |
Use the drop-down list box to select the criticality of the equipment. The system lists all the criticality codes that are defined in the “Define Equipment Criticality” activity and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the equipment irrespective of their criticality. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the equipment. The system provides the options: “Active” and “Inactive”. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the equipment irrespective of their status. The system displays “Active” by default. |
Attached To FG |
The failure group to which the equipment belongs (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the failure group in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the equipment that are attached to failure groups similar to the value entered here. |
Parent |
The parent equipment of the equipment for which failure analysis must be done (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the parent equipment in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the equipment for which the parent equipment are similar to the equipment entered here. |
Note: If all the fields are left blank, the system retrieves all the equipment in the multiline.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

Click the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the equipment for which failure analysis must be carried out.
Note: If you wish to perform equipment-wise failure analysis, you can select more than one row in the multiline.

Select the “Problem Code Wise Analysis” link from the bottom of the page to perform a failure analysis on the problems that occur on the selected equipment.
Select the “Equipment Wise Analysis” link from the bottom of the page to perform a failure analysis on the selected equipment.
Select Equipment – An overview
In this page, you can select the equipment for failure analysis. You can carry out a search based on the equipment, its description, the type of the equipment, location, status, criticality, parent equipment and the failure group to which it belongs. The system retrieves the equipment details, based on the search criteria entered. You can select the equipment for carrying out a failure analysis on the equipment as well as for the problems that occur on the equipment.
Note: You can carry out equipment-wise failure analysis on multiple equipment at the same time.
