This page allows you to plan the material that is required for carrying out the plan. Tell me more.
Select the “Material Planning” link from the bottom of the main page.
The “Material Planning” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:
Plan No. |
The number of the plan for which material must be planned. |
The description of the plan is displayed alongside. | |

Plan Sch. Start Date |
The date on which the plan was scheduled to start. |
Sch. Compl. Date |
The date on which the plan was scheduled to end. |
Est. Cost |
The total cost of spares estimated for the completion of the plan. |
Est. Duration (Hrs.) |
The number of hours required for completion of the plan. |
Enter the following fields in the “Spares & Consumables” multiline to specify standard spare parts for the plan:
Item Code |
The standard spare part to be specified to the plan (Alphanumeric, 32). Ensure that the item has already been defined in the "Item Administration” business component of Ramco Corporate Solutions. This field cannot be modified Help facility available. |
Variant |
The variant of the standard spare part (Alphanumeric, 8). Data entry in this field is mandatory if variants have been defined for the item specified in the “Item Code” field. |
Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the “Description” and “Std Cost/Unit” fields in the multiline. |
The system displays the following multiline fields for a standard spare part. If you are specifying new standard spare parts for the plan, the system updates these fields only when you click the “Submit” pushbutton.

The textual description of the spare part (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Enter the following field:
UOM |
The unit of measurement in which you require the spare part (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the unit of measurement is already defined as the “Issue UOM” for the spare part in the inventory. Help facility available. |
Qty. |
The number of spare parts required for carrying out the plan (Decimal). If you leave the field blank, the system assigns “1” as the quantity. Ensure that the quantity entered is not negative. |
The system displays the following field:
Cost / Unit |
The cost per unit of the spare part. |
Enter the following fields:
Warehouse |
The warehouse of the standard spare part (Alphanumeric, 10). The system displays the standard warehouse defined for the item in the inventory, by default. If you are specifying another warehouse, ensure that the warehouse is already defined in the "Storage Administration” business component of Ramco Corporate Solutions. This field should not be left blank, if you have specified an item in the “Item Code” field. Help facility available. |
Item Status |
The status of the item (Alphanumeric, 25). Ensure that the item status is already defined in the “Item Administration” business component of Ramco Corporate Solutions. The system displays “Accepted”, by default. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following field:
Est. Cost |
The estimated cost of utilizing the spare part. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the spare part that you do not wish to specify for the plan.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline, to delete the spare parts selected in the multiline.
Enter the following fields in the “Spares – NonStandard Items” multiline:

The unit of measurement of the spare part (Alphanumeric, 10). Help facility available. |
Qty. |
The number of spare parts required for carrying out the plan (Decimal). If you leave the field blank, the system assigns “1” as the quantity. Ensure that the quantity entered is not negative. |
Cost / Unit |
The cost per unit of the spare part (Decimal). Ensure that the cost is not negative. |
The system displays the following field:
Est. Cost |
The estimated cost of utilizing the spare part for carrying out the plan. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the details of material planning.
The system performs the following:
Saves the details of the material planned for the plan in the “Plan No.” field.
If the plan is confirmed, the system assigns the material as the parts requirement for the work order that is created at the plan level.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who planned the material. |
Create Date |
The date and time at which the material was planned. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who last modified the material planning. |
Last Modified Date |
The date and time at which the material planning was last modified. |

Select the “View Part Availability” page to view the details of parts that are available for the execution of all the work orders that are a part of the plan.
Planning material required for carrying out the plan – An overview
This page allows you to plan the material that is required for carrying out the plan. You can specify the standard as well as non-standard spare parts that are required for the plan.
You can specify standard spare parts for the plan by entering the item code and the variant of the standard spare part, the unit of measurement and the quantity required, the warehouse, the status of the spare part and any additional information about the spare part.
You can specify non-standard spare parts by entering the description of the spare part, the unit of measurement, the quantity and the unit of measurement and any additional information about the spare part.
