Create Delay Codes – A summary of the activity

Work order execution - An overview

During the execution of the work order there can be delays, which may prevent the maintenance work to proceed as per schedule. Delays can be due to insufficient materials or tools issued to carry out the maintenance work, non-availability of technicians, unfavorable plant conditions or any other reason. In this activity, you can record the various possible reasons due to which the maintenance work may be delayed, using delay codes. This will help inform the planner about the possible causes, which may delay the Work Order Execution. Based on this information the planner can take corrective actions to negate the delay and reschedule the work order accordingly.

You can define the delay code and enter a description and status for it. You can enter a sequence number that will determine the sequence in which the delay codes should be displayed wherever the delay codes are referred to.

You can modify the description and status of the delay codes that are already defined. The system stores the name of the currently logged-on user and sets the current system date and time as the created/modified date and time respectively.
