In this page, you can hold more than one work order at the same time. Tell me more.
Select the “Hold Work Order” link from the left pane.
The “Hold Work Order” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the work order to be held:

To search for a work order
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the work order:

The work order you wish to hold (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the work order in full or specify it partially. The system displays all the work orders that are similar to the work order entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve all work orders. |

Desc. |
The textual description of the work order to be scheduled (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially. The system displays all the work orders whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve all work orders. |

Work Group |
The work group, which is responsible for carrying out the work order (Alphanumeric, 30). Enter the work group in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all work orders that must be performed by similar work groups. |

WO Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the work order. The system provides the options: “Scheduled” and “In-Progress”. Leave the field blank to retrieve work orders belonging to both the statuses. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

WO On |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to retrieve work orders that are created on equipment or on location. The system provides the options: “Equipment” and “Location”. Leave the field blank to retrieve work orders that are created either on equipment or on location. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Code |
The equipment or location for which you wish to retrieve the work orders that are created (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all work orders, created on equipment or location with codes similar to the code entered here. |

Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work order to be retrieved. The system lists all the types that are defined in the “Define Work Order Types” activity and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank to retrieve all work orders irrespective of their type. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Ref. Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of document based on which the work order was created. The system provides the options: “Work Request”, “PM”, “Maint.Plan”, “Calib. Order”, “Inspec. Order” and “Work Log”. Leave the field blank to retrieve work orders created with reference to all the above document types. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to retrieve work orders based on their priority. The system fills in all the priorities that have been defined in the “Define Priority“ activity of the “Maintenance Organization” business component. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the work orders, irrespective of the priority attached to them. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the category of the work order to be retrieved. The system lists all the categories that have been defined in the “Define Work order Categories” activity and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank to retrieve all work orders irrespective of the category to which it belongs. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Planning Group |
The planning group of the work order (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the planning group in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all work orders with the planning group specified here. |

Location |
The location of the equipment for which you wish to retrieve all the work orders that have been created (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the location in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the equipment whose locations are similar to the location entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve work orders created in all locations. |
Enter the following fields in the “WO Date” field to retrieve work orders created during a specific period:

The date starting from which you wish to retrieve the work orders that are created (Date Format). |

The date till which you wish to retrieve the work orders that are created (Date Format). Leave the field blank to retrieve all work orders that are created till the current date. Ensure that the date entered in this field is later than the date entered in the “From” field. |
Enter the following fields in the “Sch. Date” field to retrieve work orders which are scheduled to start during a specific period:

The identifier of the equipment or location on which the work order is raised. |

The date on which the work order was created. |

The priority or level of importance assigned to the work order. |

The type of the work order. |
|
Category |
The category to which the work order belongs. |

The description of the work order. |
To cancel the parts reservation
Check the “Cancel All Parts Reservations” box to cancel the parts that are reserved for the work order, when the work order is held.
To cancel all assignments
Check the “Cancel All Assignments” box to cancel all the resources that are assigned for the work order.
To hold the work order
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the work orders to be held.
Click the “HOLD WO” pushbutton to hold the selected work orders.
The system holds the work order and performs the following:
Sets the status of the work orders that are in the “Scheduled” status to “Deferred” and all the work orders that are in the “InProgress” status to “Interrupted” .
Records the status change of the work order in work order history
Holds all the tasks of the selected work order and sets the status of the tasks that are in the “Scheduled” status as “Deferred” and all the tasks that are in the “Inprogress” status to “Interrupted”.
Unreserves all the parts that are reserved for the work order and unallocates all the parts that are allocated for the work order, if the “Cancel All Parts Reservations” box is checked
Cancels all the resources (Employees/Skill/Tool/Other Resources) that are assigned to the work order, if the “Cancel All Assignments” box is checked .
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Work Order Delay” link from the bottom of the page to specify delay codes for the work order.
Select the “HOLD Tasks” link from the bottom of the page to hold the tasks of the selected work order.
Holding work orders – An overview
In this page, you can hold more than one work order at the same time. You can select the work orders to be held by carrying out a search based on the following fields:
the work order and its description
the maintainable object which can be equipment or location, for which the work order has been created
the identifier of the equipment or location
the type of the work order
the category to which the work order belongs
the location of the equipment for which the work order has been created
the priority that is assigned to the work order
the planning group associated with the work order
the status of the work order
the work group that is responsible for carrying out the work order
the dates within which the work order is scheduled to start
the dates within which the work order is created
The system retrieves in the multiline, the work orders that are in the “Scheduled” or “In-Progress” status based on the search criteria entered. You can then select more than one work order in the multiline and hold them. You can also enter any additional information about holding the work orders. The system holds the selected work orders and performs the following:
The status of the work orders that are held changes to “Deferred” if it was “Scheduled”, and “Interrupted” if it was “In-Progress”.
The status of the tasks that are specified for the work order changes to “Deferred” if it was in the “Scheduled” status, and “Interrupted” if it was in the “In-Progress” status.
All the parts and the resources that have been reserved for the work order is unreserved.
Any purchase requests that have been raised for procuring parts for the execution of the work order is canceled.
The change in status of the work order is recorded in work order history.
Schedule Work Order/Schedule Bulk WO
You can cancel all the parts that are reserved for the work order when the work order is put on hold.
Check the “Cancel All Parts Reservation” box to cancel the parts reserved and allocated.
You can cancel all the resources that are assigned to the work order, when the work order is put on hold.
Check the “Cancel All Assignments” box to cancel the resources that are assigned.
