This activity allows you to maintain the region master and define the regions. You can specify the parent region and the type of the region and the system retrieves the details of the region in the multiline. The system also ensures that no region is duplicated. The system also displays the login id of the user and the system date.
Select the “Maintain Region Master” link under the “Enterprise Model” business component.
The “Maintain Region Master” page appears.
Enter the following details in the header:
Parent Region |
The parent region refers to the highest level in region to which one or more child regions are mapped (Alphanumeric, 10). This field is mainly used for reporting purpose. |
The system displays the following:
Parent Region Desc. |
The textual description of the parent region. |
Parent Region Type |
The type of the parent region. (Alphanumeric, 25). |
Enter the following detail:
Region Type |
Use the drop down-list box to specify the type of the region. It can be “State”, “Circle”, “Ward” or “Factory”. The system displays the first value by default on the launch of the page. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the region details in the multiline.
The system retrieves the Parent region description and the Parent region type in the header if the Parent region is not null.
The system retrieves the Region and Region description in the multiline. If Parent Region is not null, the system retrieves the child regions that have been already been mapped to the Parent Region.
Enter the following detail in the “Region Details” multiline:

The system displays the following in the multiline:

The Login id of the user who created the region master. |
Created Date |
The date on which the region master was created. |
Last Modified By |
The Login id of the user who last modified the region master. |

The date on which the region master was last modified. |
Click the “Save Details” pushbutton to save the region master details.
The system ensures that the Region are defined and the Region description is enterd in the multiline.Else the system displays an error message.
The system displays an error if a region is duplicated in the mulitline.
The system displays an error message if the parent of a region is mapped to a child of that region. For example, if X is a region mapped to Y and Z is mapped to X, then Y cannot be mapped to Z.
The system saves the login id of the user and the system date.
