Maintain Formula Alternate Quantity Information
This page enables you to add the alternate quantity and alternate UOM of the formulas that are in “Inactive” status. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain Formula Alternate Quantity Information” link under the “Formula Model” business component.
The “Maintain Formula Alternate Quantity Information” page appears.
The system displays the following from the “Create Formula” page:

The code identifying the formula for which alternate quantity information is to be specified |

The version number of the formula. |
Formula Class |
The category to which the formula belongs. |
Description |
The textual description of the formula. |
Effective From |
The date starting from which the formula is effective. |

The code identifying the instruction attached to the formula. |

The textual description of the instruction. |
Remarks |
Additional comment pertaining to formula. |
The system displays the following from the “Create Formula” page:
Item Code |
The code identifying the item used in the formula. |
Variant |
The variant of the item. |
IO Type |
The item’s type, which could be “Primary Input” or “Primary Product”. |
Description |
The textual description of the item. |
Quantity |
The quantity of the item used in the formula. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the item. |

Enter the following:
Alternate Quantity |
The alternate quantity of the item used in the formula. |
Alternate UOM |
The item’s alternate unit of measurement. |

Click the “Compute Total Qty” pushbutton to calculate the total quantity of the items in a formula.
Scale To |
The scaling type of the item quantity, which could be “Fixed” or “Variable. |
Click the "Scale" pushbutton, if you wish to scal the formula based on the earlier entered quantity.
The system displays the following in the “Formula Details” multiline:
Serial Number |
The serial number of the item corresponding to the item. |
IO Type |
The item type, which could be one of the following:

Enter the following:
Alternate Quantity |
The percentage of the “Alt Qty” in the header is specified in this field. |
Alternate UOM |
The alternate unit of measurement used to measure the item. |
Percentage |
The value entered here is used to calculate the “Alt Qty” on percentage basis. |
Note: If “UOM” appears the same as “Alt UOM”, the value in the “Alt Qty” can also be considered the same as the value in “Quantity”.
Click the “Maintain” pushbutton to maintain the total quantity of the items in a formula.
Maintain Formula Alternate Quantity Information – An overview
You can calculate the total quantities entered in the multiline against the “Quantity” specified in the header. The quantities can be split up in percentage too.
To calculate the “Alt Qty (Alternate Quantity)” of the item type “Primary Product”:
The quantities specified in the multiline for the “Input”, “Primary Input” and Recycle” items must be summed up.
The quantities specified in the multiline for the “Co-Product” and “By-Product” items must be deducted.
To calculate the “Alt Qty (Alternate Quantity)” of the item type “Primary Input”:
The quantities specified in the multiline for the “Co-Product” and “By-Product” items must be summed up.
The quantities specified in the multiline for the “Input”, “Primary Input” and Recycle” items must be deducted.
