This activity allows you to view the substitute items defined for the input items of formulae. You can view the substitute item details for each item. When an item used in a formula is not available, its substitute item can be used. Substitute items are valid items existing in the inventory. You can view the substitutes at the formula or default level. The default level defines the substitute items across all formulae, whereas the formula level is restricted to specific formulae.
Select the “View Item Substitutes” link under the “Formula Model” business component.
The “View Item Substitutes” page appears.
Enter the following to view the substitute item details for input items:

Item Code |
The code identifying the item for which you wish to view the substitute items (Alphanumeric, 32). Mandatory. Ensure that this code is already defined in the “Item Administration” business component. |

Use the drop down box to select the level of substitution, which could be one of the following:

The code identifying the formula, for which the substitute items are to be viewed. Formula has to be entered if ‘Definition Level’ is set as ‘formula’ |

The version of the formula. |

The textual description of the item variant. |

Quantity |
The quantity of the input item for which substitute items are defined. |

UOM |
The unit of measurement of the item. |

Item Substitute |
The code identifying the item, which can be substituted in place of the requested item, if the requested item is not available. |

Variant |
The code identifying the variant of the item to be substituted. |

Quantity |
The quantity of the substitute item. |

UOM |
The unit of measurement of the substitute item. |

Priority |
The order of preference accorded to the substitute items. |
